Ok not really but I really do like the Z especially now that I see how it really drives
Very good torque at lower RPMS and the twisties are awesome.![Thumbs Up](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)
this is Cusdaddy's 350Z with the Enthusiast package and of course Lou's CL with the type S package![Big Grin](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
Me and Cusdaddy had a mini meet since he was in Queens, too bad it was raining so we couldn't really see what both of these cars can do. In my review the Z is awesome in many ways and the cL-S 6 is great also...... very tough decision![Too Cool](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/toocool.gif)

Lou: I had a great time at the "mini-meet". Sucked that it was raining all day, but it was great to see your car.
I have to say, your CL definitely handles light years beyond my old CL. I also agree with the people here that say the 6-speed CLS is a completely different animal. The 6-speed totally changes the feel of the car. I wish it came with one from day 1 - the engine really comes alive with that tranny. Definitely a hot ride.
Yes, car designs can be boring, but the CL and Z are some of the more exciting designs out there.
In regards to getting 18" rims, the car rides really stiff, so that's one of the reasons why I didn't go with the performance package. 18" rims + NYC potholes + Z suspension = recipie for pain & disaster.
The 17" aren't too bad and look decent as some angles. Definitely look larger than 17" due to the fact the spokes go all the way out to the tires. Lou can attest. Tint is coming soon though.
Titand19 - We all have to get together one day. I'm usually around on weekends

I'm still hesitant on picking up a Z. They seem to be making them and putting them out like no tomorrow.
It's a tough decision for me mainly because I need a car that has similar room to it (no backseats really required) as the CL.
(just decent sized trunk is all)
The bar across the back of the Z kinda ruins any hope as far as luggage goes.
Also, I've been looking at the S2000 carefully. The resale value is absolutely INCREDIBLE!
Granted its only a 2.0 liter, how does it stack up to the 350 in the 1/4 and 0-60 times?
Cusdaddy, hook me up with some info bro! My director at work has a 350, and I haven't had a chance to take it out with him yet due to the ridiculous work schedule we've had to keep lately.
Another co-worker has an //M roadster and we're going to go out, weather permitting to see how the 2 stack up, sometime soon.
The Z roadster is AWESOME!

hhhmmm...side by side I think that the CL looks pretty damn nice next to the Z. I am thinking that the Z styling is going to get boring pretty quick. Don't get me wrong, the Z is a really sweet ride. I wouldn't switch to a Z based on looks alone though. Now the G35 on the other hand... ![Wink](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif)
I think that it is so awsome that all of the people that have switched to other cars still hang out on the CL forum.

Yup.. I have a manual. My friend who lives in Flushing has an Auto Touring Z, so maybe you confused it since I talked about him a few times.
Turbomikey: I'm from Whitestone. The pics were taken in the Bay Terrace shopping center garage in Bayside.
RobG/Zapata: I'm always down for a friendly run. After driving Lou's 6-speed CLS, I think it would be a good race. The Z is stronger down low and off the line, but the CLS 6-speed pulls stronger in VTEC compared to the Z up high. I'm planning on getting together with Lou down in NY more often, so we'll set something up one day.
Here is my comparison of the strengths and weaknesses between both (CLS 6-speed/350z 6-speed) that I saw:
- CLS has a smoother and quieter engine
- Exhaust note is nice on both although I give the + to the Z (Lou has the Comptech exhaust)
- Z has significantly more torque down low, but CLS pulls better in higher rpm
- CLS gearbox is smoother. Throws are about the same length
- CLS clutch is lighter and much more sensitive. Very small engagement point. + to Z.
- Handling: The Z is better in this regard, but with the suspension, wheel, tire and brake mods, Lou's CLS is competitive
- Looks: Totally subjective. For me the Z looks better, but it's in the eye of the beholder.
- Space: Z can't compete. CLS rules this department.
- Brakes: Big + for the Z; Even with the CLS Brembo kit, the Z has a much better brake feel
- Interior: CLS hands down; More lux and better seats
Overall, Lou's CLS is hot. The 6-speed CLS really impressed me. I wish Acura came out with it earlier

It's a tough decision for me mainly because I need a car that has similar room to it (no backseats really required) as the CL.
The Z does have limited luggage space due to the strut bar, but it really isn't terrible. you just can't carry really large objects, but I was able to carry my luggage for Cancun a few weeks back.
The S2000 is REALLY small. The interior is tight and luggage space is even more limited. Drove great, but the engine is weak-kneed down low compared to the Z.
The Z is a better everyday driver due to the torque. If driven properly and with a nasty launch (7000+ rpm launch), performance is similar. Same around a track. Negligible performance.
If you want to look at another car similar to these, the RX-8 is a nice choice too.
I was able to get my fairly well loaded Z for $28k, and lower insurance than my CLS which sold the car for me.
If you want any more info, let me know

i honestly don't mind having the slushbox here on the island, considering everywhere i go there's traffic...and a half a second faster 0 - 60 isn't a big deal for me either...as far as i'm concerned, im about as fast as i'm gonna get and feel comfy about the tranny hangin in there
yeah organize meets guys...we never see each other anymore, and we all live closeby...maybe we can find some safe places to "play"

As far as the 17" on the Z after driving it it feels great not too harsh...more than the cL-S even with Comptech springs and Konis with one full twist on every corner. I think with the 18" for around NYC it would be really fawked up buying a new 18" stock Rays engineering forged wheel from Nissan. 17" are fine for the summer 45 series tires are just right
