I thought I lived in a somewhat decent neighborhood...but..

went out for the sunday bagels this morning and on the block down from mine there is a BRAND NEW white 350Z touring edition precariously perched upon 4 red garden landscaping bricks (the ones with the scalloped top..about 6" high/12"long) !!! damn it looked so bad !!! ... does this mean i live in a ghetto ??? Unbelievable. I wish I had a digital camera. Anyone sees 4 brand new rims/tires new onto Ebay or anywhere in NYC (esp. Queens...) give a shout back maybe I can help this poor guy out.

??? NYC is one of the lowest rated big cities for crime and car theft... Definitely not what I'd call a rough town. Cars get stolen all over the place.. Not a huge deal

Like cusdaddy said, they'll steal from any neighborhood if they want the car. In 1999, my 96 Maxima was stolen in Flushing, Queens and found 8 hours later in Astoria on cinder blocks. They stripped the interior down to the metal, took the rims and exhaust. Thank god I never found the guy. He'd be missing some limbs.

No neighborhood is really safe from this crap. How often have you seen something like this around your area?

its so crazy, other then wheel locks, its so easy to steal rims, you'd think that over time car companies would just put wheel locks as a standard on cars, but then again it would be just as easy to get a stock wheel lock but maybe it would lower the theft of some rims being stolen.

I had a car stolen in Westport, CT of all places back when I was in college. Goes to show you it can happen anywhere.
