It's very stealthy. All you'll see is the control unit. I'm gonna hide the main unit in my Mugen grill and the laser detectors up under the rear view mirror and bury the other one in the third brake light, I have the OEM spoiler for the brake light.

What'ya think?

From what I've read, it appears to be just as good as the V1, except without the direction finder and bogey counter. All under $300.

NSXNEXT,
Yeah, i was looking at the bel models and they seem ok and they even mention stuff about instant-on and pulse. Ppl on this board say the V1 but maybe there is a new contender? Dunno i still like the directional feature of the V1.

I hear ya Zapata, but the V1 is so freakin big. Saw one in person at the CL/TL meet and it's a bit bulky. The Bel is so stealth. Nice and clean.

Don't want to give crooks a reason to break into my car.

Very true. I might go with the bel. Looks like it. yeah, V1 is big. even the hardwired option doesn't seem to appealing. Would the Bel require the same work?

The Bel is a bit more work. You have to mount the sensors in the front grill and one in the front by the rear view mirror and one in the back.

BTW there is a new one from Bel the 975-R. It's around $450. It sounds amazing.

I have the Bel 815r and I love it, but I am going to upgrade to the 915r very soon. Its not that much work either. Took me about an 1 to install everything. The radar module that goes in your front of your car will take the longest to mount after that its a breeze. The only thing that I have heard is that if you have window tint that the laser doesn't work as well.

Remember, w/ that thing sitting low in the grill, your signal loss will be much higher than a unit that sits up high like on the visor. Just compare what the grill see and what your visor sees with cars in front of you.

Hey nsxnext that looks very good after seeing the install done on that TL on the atl board. If I didn't get the escort 8500 I would of gotten that. I too agree that the v1 is alittle too big, but a great detecotr.

Directional finder is awesome! I don't know how I was without that feature with my other radars! Just that feature alone is worth the money!

Stealth is great, but remember, the higher you mount the detector, the better the reception. So, installing in your grill will degrade your early warning time. IMO.

It would be kool, if you could take one apart, mount just the receiver horn on the windshield and wire it to the main unit. Anyway, just rambling. :p
