I remember the 1st time seeing the CL-S over a year ago and thinking...this is one sweet looking car. It was a Black CL-S with Monsoon wheels. I thought Acura did a great job making a sleek, classic, elegant and understated design statement. Its modern and looks timeless. So why does every review of the CL I read say "its looks are disappointing....its boring...blah blah blah." All I keep hearing is about how good the Bimmer 3 series looks. Yeah the Bimmer looks good..but I'm sure some of you folks would disagree with the Critics and agree with me how great our Cars look!

 

remove the 'A' and slap a blue and white propeller on it and the critics will rave!

 

I wonder the same thing....especially when you have another model that is almost the same exact car with four doors, but that one gets pretty good reviews.

On the flip side, Motor Trend has seemed pretty positive about it in their reviews and also, they took one for a long-term test.

 

Always jumping on BMW's bandwagon, I really hate that!

 

Jack the price up 20 grand, and everyone would love it.

 

the tl has always been favored by acura if u ask me. it was always available with an optional body kit. not the cl. on top of that the new styling is just like every other car on the road. acura totally got rid of their very distinct and dramatic styling of the first gen cl. the interior is sweet though along with the 260hp.

 

Does the opinion of a reviewer really matter to you? If you are happy with the car you got, then just drive it.

Vince, the opinions of reviewers don't matter to me. I'm just curious as to how they base their subjective opinion. Its perplexing how the majority of reviewer say that the CL is bland. Whats their basis? I know I'm not a reviewer and you folks aren't either, but we seem to think the car is beautiful. Now why aren't there any reviewers that share that same opinion? Could it be the price factor, as some posters have suggested. Or maybe it doesn't have the BMW Mystique...it just seems that whenever a CL gets reviewed, it gets lumped into the category of looking like a spruced up Accord Coupe...and that it certainly is not. Or maybe is goes down to core of it..once a Honda always a Honda....

 

i still love my cls...no matter how the review is.. i bought the car i want..not base on review or score..

 

I love my CL-S too....So the reviewers can just suck it!

 

Fuck what the reviewers have to say... They reviewed it once, you get to review it every freaking day of your life (so long as the car is still yours) !!!! If the reviewers say the styling is bland, then so be it; Maybe I like bland!

 

Movie critics, bosses and auto reviewers are likeparents...
They aren't right about everything.

 

but i think audis look like beefed up volkswagens.

and i think ALL volkswagens are bland and ugly. they look like they're taking over for volvo or something with that boxy/bubblely style.

but the reviewers seem to love it. did you notice that carpoint has a top 10 european car thing, and did you notice that all of them are german? why couldn't they just say "top 10 german" cars? especially if they consider vw's against some volvos that i think are a lot nicer.

 

VW and audi's look nice, especially the audi's but damn, they got tech preoblems like crazy! Just like ford. They look nice but no thanks. I've heard to many horror stories about them.

 

i don't like audis and vw's. i know a lot of other people that don't, and i know a lot of people that do. but given that, there are people that don't, and there are people that do...how is it conceivable that ALL reviewers like vw/audis and none like the cl-s? it's because they aren't offering "their" opinion. they're offering us something else, and it's NOT their true opinions.

I think mrdeeno hit it on the nose here. It doesn't matter wether it's their's or not it is still an Opinion. My opinion might not match with him or her and it sure doesn't seem to match with most reviewers but it's just that, an opinion. If I like my car and I'm comfortable driving it thats all that matters plan and simple. If someone doesn't feel comfortable in their car because it didn't get high "reviews" then I think they have a few more "problems" then just their car. My $0.02.
