I sold my Acura and bought a Toyota !!! * PICS *

The WIFE'S Acura that is.
We sold her 91 Integra and bought a 2003 4X4 RAV-4.

They are dealing like you wouldn't believe on these suckers.
It's pretty loaded up with the "L" Package, Rear Spoiler, Auto, Air Cond, power windows, locks, mirrors, roof rack, body color accents, Fog Lamps, Privacy glass, hard tire cover, Keyless entry, CD player, oversized 16" split spoke wheels/tires & more.
Retail was almost 24K and after days of negotiations between three dealers I got it for 20,900.

I sold the Integra to a fellow member here who MAY or MAY-NOT wish to remain nameless.
It served me well and I'm sure it will run for many more trouble free miles.

We also considered the Honda CRV-EX, but didn't like it for a few reasons.
It's a great vehicle and it's a Honda, but it drives like a Minivan. The RAV4 feel much more "sporty".
The RAV4 has 20 less HP, but it's lighter and shorter too and more agile.
And the big problem for me was those ugly black bumpers on the CRV.
I told the guy right there that it was this that cost him the sale.
And the typical Honda color bullshit.
Only certain colors are available on certain models and certain interiors tied to certain colors.
No selection at all. The RAV4 came in TEN different colors and three different interiors.

It's time to get the ZAINO action going this weekend.
Check out the new toy.......

That's great Shawn. I can see my wife driving one of these after she's had it with her Alero. I haven't driven either the RAV or CRV, so I'm interested in your review once you get accustomed to the car.

Looks nice though. Did you get heated seats and leather? Those are two things wifey claims she HAS to have.

Thanks for the complements.
I think the style looks a little bit like a mini BMW X5 for 1/3 the price.

Actually the RACR X1 and RACR X2 license plates are a throwback from my pre-marriage days.
When I had my 88 Daytona Shelby-Z and 87 Dodge Omni GLH-S.
When I got rid of the GLH-S I didn’t want to lose the plate so I put it on her car at the time. That was 10+ years ago.

SHIT, I thought I fixed that.
They were cutting in and out and I pulled the cable out of the back and cleaned it on Saturday. It was working fine all week.
Sorry about that.

Shawn S

PS… According to the state of PA you got an incredible deal off the “real” value of 4,100 bucks. Can you freaking believe that BS ???

Yeah i'm thinking the book she pulled out may have been a bit dated...unless KBB and NADA are both wrong...

So I guess the prob with the speakers in the connection at the head unit? Any tips on how to fix that? Otherwise the car is awesome. I'm really happy with it. It's pretty entertaining to drive, and you kept it in great shape.

That’s the “S” model. I got the “L” which is more luxury.
The "S" or "sport" gives you two-tone body accents and dark gray fender flares.
I prefer the monochrome color and I don’t like the flares.
They have rubber gaskets where they touch the body and they look like it would be a bitch to clean and keep looking good as the vehicle got older.
You also get tubular roof rack instead of the Black like mine.
The “S” is just an appearance package, it’s the same suspension and engine.

Dude, I'm SO jealous...but not of the Toyota...of the snow!!! We've got so little, it's sad. Every morning I would shake my fist at the ski and yell "You call yourself a winter?!?!?!" Ok, maybe not...but seeing the snow in your pics makes me sad none the less.

Well, I just installed an XM radio in it yesterday, and threw in some new floor mats, but beyond that it's gonna stay stock for the most part. I do have an eclipse head unit i might throw in if I can't get the front speakers to work reliably. If I have money for mods, it's going towards my Z. This is meant to be my commuter car. I'm still amazed at the condition the car is in for being 12 years old. Maybe I'll try to buy his CLS from him in 5-6 yrs .

Thanks….. I’ll keep your name on file.
It’s gonna need a good WAX job come spring time though.
I did one coat of Z-2 & Z-6 last Saturday, but the surface is still kind of rough.
The paint is TEN TIMES better quality then what’s on the CL and probably your 350Z too.

Get yourself over to www.zainobros.com ASAP

You should have seen my 91 Legend Coupe when I sold it.
It was 9-years old and had 110,000-miles on it.
Most people thought it was only 2-3 years old.

The dealer only offered 7,800 for a trade on my 2001 CL-S so I sold it privately for 11,500 bucks.

It wasn’t too bad Dean. We only got about 2-3 inches. No problem on the roads, but tomorrow might be tricky driving if the temps drop below 32 again.

BTW… I thought they didn’t wear bikini’s in Brazil ? Or at least not the TOPS.
Or don’t you go to “those” type of beaches.
