i smell gas!!!
i smell gas!!!
i smell gas when the car is in neutral while reving it a few times and the the blower is on in the car.should i smell gas at all or is it normal while the fan is on in the car while i sit there while reving the motor a few times?
That happens to me when I'm parked in my garage (with the garage door open) and letting the car idle for awhile while it warms up. I get a faint smell of gas coming in through the vents. (Not revving the engine at all) ... If you're outside you really shouldn't smell anything, but in an enclosed area you very well could ... esp. if you're revving it.
You shouldn't smell gas.. period!!
(1) Check the fuel lines (hard lines) from under the car to the connection at the firewall.
(2) Check the high-pressure hose from the firewall connection to the FPR
(3) Check the high-pressure hose from the FPR to the rail
(4) Check the fuel-pump inlet and return connections. This is in the trunk... and these are plastic!!

on startup, before the engine reaches operating temp.,
I don't exactly smell gas, but a faint exhaust kind of odor through the vents.
I thought that it would take a while before the cat convertor would start working (which is when the engine reaches operating temp.).
And at startup the engine would run on a rich setting? and then adjust to a more leaner one, thus emissions would be curtailed after that with the combination of the cat convertor kicking in too to reduce NO2.
Tech geeks feel free to correct me.
