Unhappy I really screwed up.

So yesterday I had it all planned out, I was going to paint my engine cover and my battery cover the same color as my car. This is not as easy as I thought . First off I did not sand the battery cover. Second I picked up a cheap airbrush gun and the paint that I used all it did was run. So too make a long story short my battery cover now looks like shit ill post pics later. And I never started my engine cover thank god for that. So what I wanna know is for thoose who did this what paint did you use and what kinda prep did you do before painting the parts?

not sure on the products. But painting- clean, sand, buff(smooth), clean (fix imperfections), paint x2, clear coat x2.

Damn, man! You're just full of issues lately. Winter getting to you?

IMHO, I think the engine bay looks better w/o the battery cover. I'd actually like to pull out the battery bucket or whatever it as altogether. I just don't want to have to reset everything after I do it.

I have a battery cover too. maybe you can pratice painting on mine before you install it. In all seriousness though take your time with it prep it first and always add clear coats. I hope it turns out looking sharp

if you buy paint in cans by ounces, then you have to buy a reducer to make the paint process the best way, and make sure you prep it right, send down rough surface prime it , then hit it with paint mixed with reducer.(50/50)

Somewhere around here I have info from a company that will put factory paint in a spray can. All you need is the paint code. If you'd like this info let me know and I'll PM ya back with the info.
