What year do you have? if you are going to put the stock back on, which i hear are not that bad but on the 03 they have a thicker look to it. My opinion is that they look nicer than the round tip mufflers.

We need more info .. by cut off do you literally mean he hacksawed them off? Or does he have an aftermarket set of mufflers on there that bolt up? If so, you can just un-bolt the set and bolt on a set of stock mufflers, and it'll sound nice and quiet.
If he did cut them off, and its AFTER the flanges on the y pipe, you can still unbolt it and bolt up stock mufflers. It he cut them BEFORE the flanges on the y-pipe, thats a serious problem.

Yeah if you don't want to return to a stock exhaust and don't mind spending a few bucks more, the CT's are your answer.
With the quiet tips they sound just like stock. Very quiet.

well i dont have the stock exaust...and itwas cut after the Y pipe....what he did was cut the two mufflers off completely ...and put these like mini muffler looking things on there...ive never seen them before they look just a little larger than what a a pipe would look like.. and then he had tips welded on those....
So comptech is nice...ill do some searches for price..i only wanted to spend around 150-200 bucks for some brand new stock sounding mufflers..
oh btw car is 01 cls...

if you want a stock sounding muffler with a little bit of a sporting sound, then go with a chambered flowmaster muffler. It is very similar to stock, with just a little rumble.
