I need a shift knob!

The leather on mine from the facotry is peeling away. I really like the TLS6 knob but how hard is it to transfer that on, and how expensive? Anyone else get a good smooth shift from a particular knob that's not like $100?

its a direct swap over. unscrew the stock shift knob and screw on the tl-s6 knob on then just pop the boot on. thats all. i like it over the cl-s6 knob

The s2k & nsx are not a direct fit. You will have to make it fit & then figure a way to keep the boot up. I had a s2k knob on my car but had to drill a hole to mount a set screw to secure it to the shaft, then invert the top of the boot & secure that with a washer for the boot to stay up.

I have better solution. I've had s2k skunk knob and all i had to do was to find a proper washer or nut that matches the shifter thread screw it all the way down put that washer on top of it and then put that boot back and screw the knob down thats all its 5 min job maybe less. My s2k skunk knob came with a nut i think.

How much are those tls6 knobs? They are the best looking ones out there, personally.

Oh I got it. The one he found is for 10-11 TL. I searched 05-06. Why is it so cheaper?? Is there any difference?? Hmm..

I ordered both of them and the only difference I could see was the stitching. So obviously I bought the cheaper of the two.

I don't currently have both. I went to my local Acura dealership and had them order both. I only kept one.

Here is another option. I just saw this on Craigslist. Might want to call and see if he still has it. I bought an aftermarket that has 1-6 and R on it when my leather started to peel. Good luck.

Used a free S2k knob and some rubber tubing/electrical tape to make my own grommet on the shifter shaft to hold the boot up against the knob. Turned out well.

For those that did the S2K knob, could you break it down in more detail please? I got one myself, would like to put it in. I was contemplating getting this: http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Honda-Acura-S...-/260481063687

Would that fit on our cars?

I have the S2k knob now and I'm tired of freezing my hand in the morning. Think I will get that 2010 TL knob. Looks good and is pretty cheap.

Yea I'm not a fan of the all metal knobs, they are ice cold in the am. I am beyond happy with my 2010-11 TL knob.

I have the stock S2K knob and it's not an issue until the summer. That top metal part was hot as sh!t in the summer in Texas. It doesn't bother me so far in the cold here. Been as low as 25 degrees. I think mostly I just want to switch up the look for awhile. Makes me feel like the car is new.

just noticed that your grid isn't aligned. i did the s2k knob as well and had to play around with washers to get it the grid to align straight

Here's a pic of mine, it's the S2000 AP1 knob. It's nice and heavy and has the perforated leather to match our interior.

Theres a lock nut that should go on the shifter below the knob, not sure if its there for the stock knob though. It makes it much easier to align it and the knob will never rotate on you.

There is a lock nut on the stock S2k knob part# 90310-ST7-Z00 and it's black chrome looking. List price is $1.90

Yep, thats what I have on mine:

You can just barely see it in that pic. It may be black when you buy it, but the moment you touch it with a wrench it gets scuffed. Maybe brass wrenches wouldnt scuff it if you really care about the way it looks - I didnt.

I like the way that lock nut gizmo looks Civic, is that one or two pieces? I have the perforated leather version as far as the knob. Your damn center console looks new, including the shift boot. Not fair.

Its two pieces - the lock nut and the boot holder(?) that came with the PSpec shifter. The boot was replaced 4 years ago, although it didnt need to be. Because of the knob I ran before this one, the perf leather didnt match so I swapped it.

Also, 303 Protectant FTW.

My boot is starting to go too...

I swapped my knob over to a monsterknobs one...it's a spun resin so it doesn't get hot in summer or cold in winter, which I love. Wish it was weighted though!
