Some asshole hit my car while it was parked in the city. There is a nice red mark with par tof the bumper punched thru. So the bumper cover needs to be replaced. Don't wanna go thru inurance because we have already made two claims this year. Mother fucker. Anyways...anyone know how much a rear bumper costs? and how much do you think it cost to get it painted. Thanks.

new bumper and a paint job set you back like $450-$500

 

I paid 250 to have my rear bumper painted (not a new bumper)....and I have to get it done again since I tapped a pole and all the clearcoat peeled off like onion skin

 

New bumper + paint job + labor = under $700

That's what happen to me once when my co-worker try to back up his car and hit my rear right side of my bumper.

 

You dont have to replace your bumper. And $700.00 is a rip off.

If you absolutely have to have a new bumper you can find it online for about 150-200 then another 250-300 to paint it.

But your bumper is plastic and they can make it look like new. I was in a hit and run in Dec and the a$$hole punctured my bumper in 3 places and took gouges out in other places and of course royally f-ed up my paint.

I took my car to a body shop my mechanic recommended. I paid $250 to have my bumper fixed and repainted and my bumper looks better then when i bought the car (had some touch up areas on it originally) I couldnt be happier and I didnt have to pay the ridiculous $750.00 original quote I got from some rip off place that told I had no choice but replace my bumper and the under skirt...BS.

 

thanks peeps! I am going to look into different stuff now. I wanted to get an idea of the range of prices...becoz you know if you say inurance the body shop won't have quote under 1500 bucks!! I was backing up in a downpoor weather ( low visibility)... there was tillted sign post (maybe someone also was backing up and hit it and tillted... I did not see the sign post and it just went like a butter slicing knife.

 

i lose a peice of me when i see shit like that. I gotta get help
