I need help designing a Cold Air Intake for these filters………

At work we are doing testing on new Cartridge Filters for Dust Collectors.
I have a pair of these sitting in my office and I got a GREAT idea.

You think I can rig up one of these BAD BOYS in my CL-S ???
They are about 30” long & 11” in diameter.

What do you think the HP gains would be ???

Shawn S

I'm KIDDING by the way.

Sorry for the H-U-G-E pictures.
I fixed the original post by making them a bit smaller.

Let me know when you make a product for allergy sufferers that use them -- that is about the right size for me.

As far as your stinking slush box, you could just go hit the truck scrap yard and get one of those stainless truck exhausts that exit about 6 feet above the ground.

Use that as the design template, and call your new 6-speed (when you get it) with the 10 foot truck filter -- "Mad Max 6x6".

Oh -- don't forget the air horns -- a must for honking at marginal drivers.

(Sharper image -- Ionic Breeze [forget about it])

I actually owned a few, before I gave up on them -- they are really lousy and make ozone.

1. The bad ones just don't work at all.
2. The dangerous ones have too high of a voltage and emit way too much ozone.
3. There is a new "infomercial" one that "magically moves the air through it without fans". My mom got one, and sent it back 2 days later -- a complete joke.

A lot of the units will also leave a nice coat of garbage on the wall (despite their claims). If you like black walls, you love an 'em.

(If someone likes ozone -- enjoy, and do get one, it does help to kill germs)

I have some large HEPA drum filters made by Envirocare (now owned by Honeywell). They are very similar to the filters in our air conditioning system.

Mine have charcoal outer filters, and there is a nice big Hepa filter inside that gets all of the real tiny stuff.

The bummer is when you live in this filthy city, a lot of pollution, dust, mildew, mold, pollen, rubber dust, brake pad dust, silicates, and other goodies find their way into the home.

I once walking into this guys house who had bought a unit that looked like a "Shawn Jr" unit. The air smelled like I was in Hawaii!

Now that's some air!!!!!

BTW -- I guess you can tell I've spent a lot of money on some really crumy junk -- oh well.

I know, when I saw the commercial, I thought the unit was great. (No expensive HEPA filters to replace -- just clean the plates.)
