Sure wish AEM would release their freakin' CAI!!
My friend just bought a black S2000 and has 1,300 miles on it. I know I'll lose because he's a good driver but it'll be fun!!
I'll try and get Bonez or Spidy to come out so they can man the video camera.
I hope to have the video of the SoCal meet online by tomorrow.

I raced an S2000 this past summer right when you cross the Maryland line on 495...We got up to about 140, side by side, and he took off in the twisties...It was a good race, just because the guy had NO CLUE how to drive it!

If i was driving the S2000, I would ripped the Type S a new asshole.>>!

HAHAHAHA! If he just picked it up, you've got nothing to worry about. I raced one when I was stock still in my GTX and beat him to about 90. He was slowly gaining at that point but you have to remember, that was when I was stock, so you gotta say I was probably 14.9 to 15.1 range. That car is hard to learn to drive. Once he learns the shifts etc, he'll smoke you know problem. To get near the magazine numbers on the car, you need to drop into gear at about 9000 and shift at the near 9000 red-line. I don't know ANYONE that would feel comfortable doing that in any car, especially a new one. Since the CL-S is better at the top end than my GTX anyway, it should be in the CL-S' favor until he gets the hang of the car. Good luck and let us know what happens.

Vamp, let me give you a little history on Immy.

When I met him he owned an ITR and used to autox it and did quite well.
He bought and a sold a Viper.
He bought and sold a 2000 Vette
He just bought the S2000 and he said that launching is very similiar to the ITR.

I know, but I have headers so that will help. I'm thinking he'll have a car or so on me. I have to race him soon b/c he's getting the SC in february!!!
I think s2000s run high 13s though, don't they? In either case his car only has 1300 miles on it so it's not completely broken in.
It's tough to get the Vettes into the 12s with the stock run flat tires. He sold the Vette because compared to the Viper it handled like crap.

hey Mike .. i guess i have a bad news for u .... i just went to buy things from 7eleven and i saw this guy with the Black S2000 .. i told him come on lets try and stuff like that ... he said okey .... the first one i pulled away from him until i shifted to 3rd gear .. then he passed me slowly and i was in his rear bumper... and the second race we were equal in the 1st gear and in the second i start pulling away from him ... and in the third he passed me again.. ;-( i dont think there is CL-S that can take a S2000 with out a big mod ... like a supercharger or so unless the driver of the S2000 mess up.

SO god help u man at SAT lol. Dont forget my best runs on the gtech was 5.6 and the 1/4 mile 13.9402 or something like that.

joosed ... iam telling u .. noway the CL-S will catch up with the S2000 after 100 ... because after 100 he start pulling away from my car ... i was stuck to his rear bumper... we didnt go to the 4th gear though... i was at his rear bumper at the end of the 3rd gear. but iam telling u .. if we raced more .. he would pull away more and more. his engine sounds like a V8 when he was beside me .. if iam small i would buy one of those.

I believe the only mod of consequence on an S2000 would be a SC. The car is pretty well turned from the factory.
