I love the new 2003 jaguar S-type!!!

I know this was posted long ago.. but i just wanted to remind people.

WOW, they finally made it the way i wanted. I used to hate the old interior, but not they re-did it!!!

I think im pretty sure this is what my dads next car will be. I just love it!! But of course not the Type-R model.. check it out!!!!

This has been rectified with an all-new six-speed automatic transmission that is standard on V8-powered S-Types and optional on V6 models
The displacement of the normally aspirated V8 engine increases to 4.2 liters (from 4.0 liters). This raises horsepower from 281 to an even 300.

S-Type R. It's powered by a supercharged version of the 4.2-liter V8 that pumps out 400 horsepower, R model gets a sport-tuned suspension, huge Brembo brakes and 18-inch wheels, Jaguar claims the S-Type R can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in about 5.3 seconds

The new S-Type goes on sale in May 2002.

It is elegant, and it got speed. I like it, but IMO i think that car fits someone that is 30+ but not teens. I seen a pic of a white one and it looks great. But for some reason the rims were like black or opal like, who knows.

Too bad Jaguar didnt engineer the shift points to match the peak HP. Check out the new C&D, they were saying that the engine never is able to achieve the full 400 hp on acceleration tests!

I like the R model, looked good at the Autoshow.....$62k is a bit nutty though. The mesh type grille on the R makes it look like a Tennis Racket.

Yes thank God they changed that ugly dash to a more Jag like one.

P.S. Any rumors on a X-type R? Or is it way to soon? It did take Jaguar 3 years to bring an R model the the S-Type. SO will we see an X-Type R in 3 years?

P.P.S. The S-Type pics above show a hand brake on the old model, but not the new one. How could they go to a foot brake if a stick is available?

23WT...as you reference in your post what business does a teenager have owning a luxury car like ours let alone a Jaguar?

This is a really touchy issue for me and is why I believe kids don't respect anything any more. With parents doting kids with money instead of love and their attention, kids become spoiled and think the world owes them everything. Also wheres the work ethic that our parents instilled in us--that you'll apprecaiate things more when you earn them for yourself? Nothing makes me appreciate my car more than the fact that I started out with the "family beater" and worked my way up from used cars and economy cars and I was really excited the day I bought my own Acura. Kids today feel that mommy and daddy owes them a BMW--come on!
