"i Love My Cl-s!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
I just got back from having the car serviced with the replacing of the bulk hose on the windshield washer unit. I learned about the Acura bulletin here. Thanks!!!
I had them check my brake pads and rotors. I purchased the car September 1, 2000. When I got it inspected in June 2001 they never pulled the wheels to check the brakes. They said "it looked like a new car so no need." Must of been the Zaino shine. Well here we are in January 2002 with the car having 45,000 miles on it and I finally have the pads and rotors looked at. The Service Manager said the pads were about 1/4 worn and that was it with rotors looking great.
Service manager said whatever I'm going for a driving habit please continue it. I told him I cruise at between 80-85 mph with my V1 on.

Just to let you know, my brakes are geting weak, I tried to stop this morning and my CLS keeps rolling
It used bite hard and stop like a rock. I cheked the brake fluid and it is bit below the max line.
I am planning on buying new high performace brake pads in my next $30k miles service ( Now at $28.8K miles). Any pointers to high qaulity pads at a reseanable price?
I don't like that mushy feeling when you push hard and you can't lock your wheels or activate the abs.....

My Service Manager at North Hampton Acura was a certified mechanic for 20 years and races stock cars. He said the softer older pads that were made of asbestos wore out in six months but did not warp the rotors because they were soft. He said now the harder pads with no asbestos heat up the rotors more quickly and cause them to warp. He uses high performance pads in his stock car that cost $500 per pair.
