Not a bad deal at all. I got 19.5k for my 2001 CL last year and I'm paying more than your $370 a month for my Z, but I leased instead of buying.

Which model Z?

$17.5 is a pretty good deal for a 2001 CLS. I had 30k miles last year, and after looking all over the place, the most I could get was $19.5

Also doesnt seem like you drive enough to lose that much money on the CLS and have a new car payment.

Just enjoy the CLS since its paid off.

cant go wrong with the 04' z. most of the bugs found on the earlier models have been ironed out at this point. Nissan's been very proactive about it. l love my car...probably the best car i've ever owned. what model was that quote for?

I say go for it. You will always lose money with cars - Whether it's buying new ones, modding it, repairing it, etc, they are always cost you money. So, if you are a car enthusiast, why not enjoy spending the $$? Don't get stuck with a car you are bored of just to save a few dollars. If you aren't bored of your CL yet, I say keep it.. otherwise, trade it in.

Since I enjoy cars, so much, I like having one I really enjoy. I loved my CL, then sort of got bored with it and fell in love with the Z. I lost some money during the trade, but I'm really happy right now.

Personally, I realized leasing was the best choice for me, since I get bored of my cars quite quickly.

You have to do what you think is best, but I made a similar choice and I can't express how happy I am. The Z is a great car to own and I still look foward to getting behind the wheel every day (even though I've had it over a year now)

I say get it! , but since you got 17.5 from one dealer..call some more dealerships and see if they can beat it.

stop it already cripes, wtf you gonna do? SAVE YOUR MONEY!!!!! Look at dudes with hot cars and shit, they aren't living at home with mom and dad. They have their own places....BIG PLACES.

Save your money in a few years there will be something else better than the 350z and yuo'll be left with your Nissan and your Nissan Service..... no thanks.....

no offense....just prefer to have a manufacturer i can rely on getting a loaner. Atleast in my area.....

Actually, my supposedly crappy Nissan service has been nothing but great so far. Much better than my Acura dealer experience (I got mine at Paragon Acura in Queens.. those in the area know they are shit).

I get a call every 3 months from the service manager at my Nissan dealer asking if everything is okay with the car. I get a loaner if I schedule a visit ahead of time, I routinely get service coupons in the mail, and I even got a card from the dealer with a picture of me and my car the day I bought it personally signed by the service manager to celebrate the holidays and another a few weeks ago to celebrate my car's 1 year anniversary.

I know my Paragon Acura experience wasn't anything like PAA who treat people like kings, but Nissan isn't all bad either. It all depends on the dealer, not always the manufacturer

and my nissan service is 100x better then any acura dealership I've been too (well at least 1-2 horrible service managers I've dealt with). I'd rather have a car I want rather then a fckn neon loaner from my acura dealership. And Nicky- I forgot you needed a place too.. so you may want to scrap the Z idea for now.

Here's a pic of the cards my Nissan dealer sent to me. Just thought I'd show them because it's pretty cool, and Nissan's not bad at all in regards to customer service. (note: I just noticed you can see my old CL next to the new Z in the pic of me and the cars.. awww)

Nicky take it from me dont do it just yet...dont get the Z new bro...I know you love new cars and stuff but you can get a used Z in perfect condition for much cheaper.

the resale value is suppose to be good but any new car will depreciate at least $5K in the first couple of months.

wait a couple of months till there is a perfect used Z that you can get for $25K and start negotiating. Dealers are always more eager to negotiate with used cars than new because it takes up space and only depreciates on the lot.

I know its hard but I will never buy another new car again ....strictly 1 year old cars that are in pristine condition.

this guy bought a 2002 clk55 and and it depreciated 54% in less than 2 years...please read this before you make any decision...

I rather buy new for the peace of mind knowing that YOU got to break in the car right. Im sure 350z owners arent gentle.

Who knows what the owner did to the car before he sold. You also gotta worry WHY the owner sold in the first place....

Thats why i like to buy new.

my friend just sold his Z to carmax. It may still be available, one of the IL carmax's....it's a touring silverstone. He never raced it and he babied it. He sold it to get a new place (he also has an '03 A4), he couldnt justify 2 cars.

these are the cars that Im talking about...cars that are babied to death but owners just got rid of them. Im pretty sure nobody here is gonna keep their car for 10 or 15 years.

you buy a used 7 months old Z fully loaded with warranty for $25k not only did you save money buying the car but youll have be ahead of the game when you sell or trade. First owners take the biggest raping of them all....

If you love the car and don't mind the payments, go for it.

Don't just get a new car, just for the sake of getting a new car. Make sure you absolutely love the fucking Z.

It's a Nissan, not a Bentley....getting the car shouldn't (for the most part) have an effect on you doing other things.

Getting a $30k car won't fuck up your future finances that mutch. Unless you knock some chick up and have to pay for all sorts of shit when she decides to keep the kid.

see what you can get if you sell your car outright separate and apart from the deal the Nissan dude wants to give you. I never make my cars part of the bargain!

Nicky buddy, seriously though... dont rush into buying a car. Every week you seem to want a different car. Didnt you want the mustang last week? Then the current Cobra a week before that? Then you wanted to save for a townhouse. And before that you wanted a M3. ( Cant beileve i remembered all that)

Anyways dont rush into buying a car. I did and now i have regrets. So dont be a fool!
(should have bought a used 330ci)

p.s Buy german

- like i said in my post....i have no issues with the service i've gotten. Not every dealership is PAA but it doesn't need to be. The decsion should encompase all aspects of car ownership.

- good to know your nissan dealership likes to know how things are

- i've gotten service coupons in the mail since i first bought my first acura

Nicky, if you don't dislike your car, don't waste the money. A house is something that will bring a return on your investment (most of the time, anyway), while a car is a money pit like almost no other. It's your decision, but it's not like you drive a 13-year-old Escort with 200k on it, and mounting reliability and repair issues. Your car is hotter than most. I would do just about anything to be able to own a house again. I'm working on it, more slowly than I'd like, but I'm working on it. As much as I "must" have a nice car, I can't live in my car. I'd much rather have a (slightly ) lesser car and a house.

Good one Mantis!
I'm gonna call my dad's friend at Fox Valley Motorcars....maybe he can get my a pristine used one with low miles. Like Lou said....I don't take the big financial hit....and then if I save 5-6 grand, my payments would go from $375-400 per month to $300, which wold be nice
