I know this is overdone but need fast help!!

One of my stock tires has been leaking SLOW air for the past 3 months and I have to fillit back up once a week or so. No one can seem to figure out what is wrong with the stupid thing. I have brought it to two or three places. Plus my front stock has a blister in the sidewall and it scares me. Soooooooooo.....

I need advice on new tires right away. I am only at about 16,000 with 2 years to go on my lease but I figure I will just get new tires now and they will last 24,000 or so. But the question is....WHAT SHOULD I GET??? I need to order them soon so the help would be totally appreciated.

I wouldn't mind having a more "performance" tire. I have heard a good all season is the Michelin A/S in 225/45/17.

Oh I want a 225 tire not a 215 or 235. And I would like to keep it relatively affordable. Thanks for the help. Can you please list good alternatives for me in 225 that will blow my stick tires away with grip and handling! And how muh the tires you suggest cost.

Thanks

I would go for the 225/50 Pilot A/S. The tires rock... Dry and wet performance is great!

You won't be disappointed!

Where can I get them at the best price and how much should I expect to pay per tire?

Well... I got mine at Costco, but I got them at a massvie discount as they had them on the floor and just wanted to get rid of them ($670 mounted and some-what balanced). I believe a couple of other ACL.com members got their tires from Costco. The ONLY problem I had with them, is they didn't balance my tires correctly. That issue has since been resolved.

Tirerack sells them for around $200/tire, and that's pretty much what I'd expect to pay normally. I'd think around $900 - $950 for a set of four mounted and balanced.

S-03 Pole Positions and I hate to say this, but from TireRack. They seem to have really good prices on these now. Just my two cents!

It just sounded like he wanted more of an all-seaon tire, which the S-03 certainly are not.

I've heard NOTIHNG but good things about the S-03s as well...

Yeah I am a little scared in the sense that I live in NJ and by the time I have 6 months on Potenza 03's there won't be much there in case it snows out here. Should i just get teh Potenza 03's for the summer and keep the 2 or 3 stocks to put back on during the winter? Can I fun 215 stocks up front and 225 potenza in the rear in the winter?

I use to have goodyear GSC's on my camaro all year round and was ok in the snow and they are probably just as bad at the bridgestones

For an all-season tire, the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S cannot be beaten...it's just damn expensive. TireRack offers great pricing.

Since you live in New Jersey, I assume you want all-season tires. I would suggest the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 225/50x17 or Dunlop SP 5000 215/50x17. I opted for the Michelins. I don't know what you mean by "relatively affordable", but there is not many tires to choose from for the CLS. Check out Tirerack.com, Michelins are about $200 each and I believe the Dunlops are $185 each. Both of these tires deliver great performance.

Get some good sticky Toyos in 225-45-17s. They're great in dry and wet, then just get some snows for the winter. Life is too short to drive on all seasons

i like my setup...

winter: Dunlop SP 5000 235/45-ZR17 front, stock 215/50-17 michelin's in the back...cost-efficient, nice all-season z-rated performance tire, $127 each from tire rack, handles 10x better than stocks.

summer: Toyo Proxes T1-S 235/45-17. Great in dry weather or rain (NOT snow). Bridgestone Potenza S-03's are going on next
