I just dont see what people are thinking these days

$29,1xx for a mustang mach 1. Yes they are fast, but the build quality and the interior is just awful IMO. 31,050 msrp for my Cl-S, and i think the Cl-S is such a better car than the mustang, yes it might not be as fast, but its gotta plenty of speed, and it kills it the mustang when it comes to luxury and the standard equipment. I just cant imagine myself paying 30k for a mustang.

I'm sure the Mustang fans are saying just the opposite of you. They are saying, "I'd never buy a CLS, FWD, no torque, high strung motor, bland looks, lousy brakes, etc.

The shaker hood on those isnt painted, it is bare plastic. So if you get any color besides black it looks nasty.

Why would they be saying the opposite. My friend has one and paid 33k out the door. I paid 31,500 out the door. You are telling me that the mustang is a better quality car overall than an 03 Cl-S? I don't know how you can come to that conclusion. The Cl-S might be slower and FWD, but it just has so many things that are nicer than the mach 1

I agree. I owned a '00 GT 5 speed, and it was a POS. That interior blows. Handled great and I liked the outer looks (fit and finish on the outside was really good I might add), but the drivetrain and interior licked a nut.

The CL-S has the same HP as a GT, and 40ftlbs less torque. But, the torque band on the CL-S is waaaayy better. I drove that 5 speed in the winter (people thought I was crazy...). It had NO torque below 2500 RPM. I never used 1st to start out on ice or anything. It just didn't have any balls down low (which made it a bitch to drive in the mountains, since cruise RPM was 2-2.5k).

I'm finding my 6 speed a bitch on ice! Damn Acura and their flat torque curve and close ratio 6 speed. Bastards!

So all in all, for a little more money I bought the CL-S. Really, I have only 2 bitches about it:
1) FWD
2) a 50/50 weight distribution would be nice.

I think if I got 2), I'd forget about 1).....
