Just some suggestions.

Did your friend include the owners manual with the sale? You might call a Jeep Chysler dealer and ask for someone who can answer your questions.

While I've never drove a Jeep I would believe your friend because I do remember that same warning about higher speeds and 4WD being issued long ago on similar vehicles.

It most likely true. My Xterra is like that. If you need to drive in 4x4 mode, then conditions must be bad enough where you shouldn't be driving that fast in the first place. Besides, learn to drive it w/o 4x4 and use it only to get you out of trouble.

That comment applies to 4 wheel low. It should also have a 4 hi setting for towing and the like.

It is only for 4 - lo. Which should only be used in really bad situations. If you will be towing or doing light offroading use 4 -hi.

Hard core, true posi lock 4wd should NOT be engaged or driven over 55mph. It was like that for my Scout II as well since it was a true 4 wheel drive with power to ALL wheels ALL the time (in 4wd mode), positraction front and rear. Also be sure to engage 4wd once a month to keep all parts properly lubed.

Why is it that you support people who cannot spell simple words correctly? Why is it wrong to correct people who cannot spell? If the guy is foreign, well that's different.

Do you belong to one of those "celebration of average" groups?
