I just bought a car..need advice...help
I bought a 1992 Jeep Cherokee from my frined who gave me a good deal and he is the first owner of the car..that car is clean..has not accident at all..drives pretty good..the exterior and interior is good and clean...My question is that my frined told me that if the 4X4 mode is on.. i can not drive over 55 miles.. that will damaged the 4X4 system...is that true??? and can i switch to 4X4 at any speed? or there is certain speed..need advices??

Just some suggestions.
Did your friend include the owners manual with the sale? You might call a Jeep Chysler dealer and ask for someone who can answer your questions.
While I've never drove a Jeep I would believe your friend because I do remember that same warning about higher speeds and 4WD being issued long ago on similar vehicles.

It most likely true. My Xterra is like that. If you need to drive in 4x4 mode, then conditions must be bad enough where you shouldn't be driving that fast in the first place. Besides, learn to drive it w/o 4x4 and use it only to get you out of trouble.

Hard core, true posi lock 4wd should NOT be engaged or driven over 55mph. It was like that for my Scout II as well since it was a true 4 wheel drive with power to ALL wheels ALL the time (in 4wd mode), positraction front and rear. Also be sure to engage 4wd once a month to keep all parts properly lubed.
