I hate michelins...pics of my bubble

Damn it Damn it...f*ck f*ck f*ck...

Damn POS Michelins got a bubble in it.

I vividly remember hitting a hothole last night in the rain, and I thought to myself "self...if you had a set of 18's w/ 40 series tires that would've dented your rims"

WELL GUESS THE F*CKING WHAT. I got a DAMN bubble in my tire wall instead and huge black scratch in the rim.

Maybe this was a sign from someone above telling me to put that credit card down. I was about to order some rims/tires and go into some major debt.

Michelins are damn good tires. Any tire if hid on the sidewall the wrong way will create a bubble. Your wheel has a impact mark on it, so you obviously hit something. Don't blame the tires

yeah, its happened to mine last month. I took mind to get it replace at Discount Tire. They recommended me to buy insurance for the others tires in case its happen again. I didn't know they offer that even its not their tire. So i bought the insurance, its cost around $100 for 4 tires. If you replace them stock tire its cost like $200 a piece. Too bad you not live in TX, I could let u use my insurance.

oe michelin tires are shit.

chikai, i would recommend you not charge your rims on a credit card and go into debt. you will regret it later. actually, the reason i havn't ordered rims myself is cuz i'm trying to pay off previous debt w/ that money. it's hard to wait but i'll be stoked when my card balance is zero. rims will just have to wait.

Wow so THAT'S what a bubble in the tire looks like.

Man with all the bumps I hit I should be thankful I don't have any of those!

Btw, how come I never ever heard of tires "bubbling" until I came to this forum and read that about the stock tires and the Kumho Ecsta Supra 712s?

Seriously, I've NEVER heard of tires bubbling before. Either they work fine or they blow out or they get a puncture. But a bubble?! WTF is that crap?! Sounds like poor quality!

Front passanger right? I had the same exact thing when there was like 5k on the car. One day the tire was near flat (like 12 lbs) 2 days later I noticed the bubble. dunno what I hit to cause it.

All i have to say is FUCK Pittsburgh and the FUCKING TAX i pay for this shit ass city.

If it were my way, I'd FUCKING be home in Seattle, where the roads are TEN times better.

On the upside, I met a girl tonight that drives a 328i...she wants to get into racing. So I got her number...this beautiful lil' korean girl.

DAMN...I LOVE OPEN BAR....

And FUCK Massachusetts too!!!! We have the same shit...loads of taxes and SHITTY ROADS. This is why I won't even think of lowering my car. I lost one of my tires to a bubble too, Chikai...I went out and immediately got a replacement from another a-cl member (Nashua Nighthawk). You should put up a post for a replacement or check Black Market...you DON'T want to pay full price for a piece of shit OEM tire. I have NEVER seen the problems with bubbling on any other car I've ever had that we've all seen with the OEM CLS tires....I'll never buy Michelins again...S03's all the way!!! Good luck, pal...we feel for you.

LOL, I commute to Massachusetts reguarly...and the roads are like glass compared to Bedford NH roads. We have very low taxes here, so nothing is ever done. I'll take some photos of our worst roads...we don't have potholes, we have craters.

Stock Michelins are weak tires.. Just after 10k miles I hit a pothole and had a bubble ...I decied to buy Nitto and they are 235/40 series.
I had no problem to sold the remaining 3 tires to a-cl.com members... at $85 each....

Now at 34k miles and Nittos are holding great over the same crappy roads....!

I've busted 2 tires already. like someone has already mentioned, dicount tire offers road hazard on tires (even if you didn't originally buy the tires from them). I used the road hazard coverage to replace the 2nd tire (the first tire was covered under the michelin warranty, much to my surprise) for free.

as far as the black mark on your rim - when I killed my second tire, the same thing happened to my rim. turns out it was just a scuff from the rubber and it cleaned right off with a little soap and water (and a wet terry-cloth towel used as a scrubber).
