I Hate Insurance Companies...MGM!
"Money Grabbing Moochers." Can you believe this, the Florida people take it on the chin again from the insurance companies. If it wasn't enough that we all got large insurance increases here in Florida recently because the fawkin' State of Florida chooses to do nothing but help these insurance companies rape it's clients. Now, they have a bill that is about to be signed by our esteemed Gov. Bush that will allow the insurance companies to charge you according to your CREDIT REPORT. If you have bad credit, they could cancel you or bump up your rates at their whim. As it is now, I pay $2000. a year for my CL-S and my wife's TL-S is $2100. We have a clean record with no accident or tickets. What they should do is have a sliding scale set up according to how YOU PAY YOUR INSURANCE. If you miss payments or are late, then maybe you should fall into a temporary catagory charging you more for a limited about of time and rewarding you for getting back into "good graces." I don't believe it's right charging someone by their credit history. Sorry for venting...but this pisses me off.

Still trolling
Your getting hosed. I would check around. Dallas/Ft. Worth, New York, and California are the worst and I only pay (here in DFW) 1440 a year for my CL and my wife's xTerra.

I rather have them check my credit than my driving record but that's another story. I went online and went with Progressive for about $800/6mos on both my CL and my wife's TL. I know Progressive sucks but I'm taking a chance that we don't cause an accident. Odds are we won't so I'm going cheap for now.

Florida is a different ball game than other states. I too, went to Progressive and told them I was being hosed by State Farm. They told me that their prices will hose me too and are similarly competetive here in FL.

Yeah, Pappy...You get hosed by living in WPB...Miami is even worse on rates in most cases...
In Jax, I pay $1200 just for me and I'm divorced and over 30...State Farm does have the cheapest rates...
And being in the insurance business, I understand your argument about companies trying to make money. Keep in mind, though, State Farm is a mutual company, meaning no stockholders. Those rebate checks you get in the mail, that is their profit.
We are getting raped in Florida because of all the medical fraud and excessive litigation for every last fu(kin' accident that happens more than anything...

Honsestly its just as fair as when you are rated by your age. Its not fair to be a young with a perfect driving record and pay up the ass for insurance just because most young people have caused a lot of accidents even though you have a perfect driving record. People should be rated on their own personal driving record. Its like you are guilty until proven innocent.

ok, 4100 for 2?? How about 4100 for ME!!!! count your blessings. I got my original quote with a clean driving record at 3600 or some BS, one ticket later, bump 500...
Ok so i am exaggerating a bit, 4093 per year.

Actually, the industry has been sampling and doing surveys over credit histories for about 5 years or so. Those with bad credit tend to drive worse than others (just as teens crash everything and women technically having better crash/ticket ratings than men) and tend to abuse property they own/rent...After showing the research to the DOI, the DOI allowed for the credit risk rating system...

Anecdotally, it's women that get in our way, or cut off the rest of us, and we end up reacting to them and causing a collision...They then drive off wondering what happened...
Seriously, women traditionally have a much, much lower accident rate than men do, and their insurance is cheaper as a single person as compared to males at any age except teens where they are almost now dead even in accident/ticket rates...

I know for a fact the the major insurance companies have based rates on credit for some time. I used to only be able to get insurance from little ass companies rated c, or less. As my credit got better I was quailfied from the major insurance companies. Read some of there website declerations. They say credit is a factor.
