I must be living right. I got stopped by the Houston PD on my way into work this AM for speeding. I was doing 80 in a 55. I have no moving violations on my driving record so the officer told me to slow down and let me go.

I have been driving for 36 years, this is the first time I have been stopped for speeding and did not get a ticket. It definately pays to be nice to them.

I got stopped once for speeding and the cop said, "forget it, just because I'm having a bad day doesn't mean I have to ruin yours."

With HPD forming their 'Traffic Enforcement Division' I have a feeling alot more of us will be getting tickets shortly (especially with the more than likely temporary 55 mph speed limit).

The posted speed limit is all that you need to exceed before getting a ticket

But of course, if you happen to get pulled over, you might get lucky so why not try and be nice to the people in blue as Marine1 has seen

Being nice does help, but sometimes you just run into people that'll give you a ticket no matter what. I've only been ticketed twice out of the many times that I've been pulled over. Just be nice and give them a little conversation and they'll usually be out of your way. Funny, the two times I got ticketed were the only two times I got pulled over by women. Bitches! :sqntfawk: Even female cops will tell you that they are the worst.

i got a pass a few months ago...doing about 65 in a 45....cop let me go, he was a real ass though during the pull-over...i was surprised he let me go..

Hmmm I know someone that was racing on the freewya, prolly doing 120 on the freeway, got a ticket for doing 67 in a 65mph zone..... Guess why? He's a Marine Reserve (more than likely, that was the reaosn he got off easy).

Got stopped for doing 55 in a 25 residential...let me go...and told me that since I was early to get to work that there was need to speed....I just said YES SIR and went on my way

did 50 in a 30 and cut off a car in Tracy because I didnt know that the lane was MUST TURN instead of MERGE. I think he let me go because I wasnt from the area.

60 in a 45, the guys just came up and said, "Dude dont make me fill out paper work today...." he laughed and tapped the hood and said "get on outta here"


I'm lucky bastard.....of course when that FIRST record is put on my blemish free screen, ouch ...I will be hit all over.....til then, drive hard and keep your eyes open
