I got my CLS back... but with a surprise!
I got my CLS back... but with a surprise!
Ok,
I got my CLS back.
They did:
1) Rplaced the door handle ( interior one)
2) Fixed the dashbord rattles and the third light brake rattle.
3) Replaced the front pads and re-surfaced all 4 rottors.
4) Hand wash and Vac
They did NOT fix or correct:
1) The ticking noise from EVAP. The service rep believe the source of the noise is not the Valve but something else. It could be the tranny or something else. They need to tear down my CLS to find the source of the noise. Of course, I said NO.
2) The ATF fluid was not topped off.
The thing that ticked my off BIG time is they put a fuking 100 miles
as " road test".
Half tank of gas has been consumed and the did not even bother fill it back.
That is fooking unacceptable from an Acura dealer.
Basically some Service rep drove down to Boston and came back...
I am really furious. Tommorrow, I would call the Service Manager and complain LOUD......

Sorry man, I just can't get that TL-S commercial out of my head now.
100 miles does seem unreasonable for a road test.
Man... That's whacked. 100 miles seems a bit excessive, especially for some dashboard rattles.
Did you not notice it until you were home? I would have driven back there immediately and bitched.
Does the service document show the 'in' and 'out' for mileage? If so, go after them and hard!!!

Sounds like someone had a JOY ride in your car ! I WOULD BE PISSED AND IN THERE FACE TOMORROW MORNING ! B I G T I M E. BTW, I record how many miles are on my car when I drop it off and if there too many when I pick it up, I QUESTION THE HELL OUT EM.......

I emailed this to the General Manager
Dear Mr. Sunnyside General Manager:
This afternoon, I went to pick up my Acura CL-S after some service work has been done. In fact, it was nice to meet you briefly and shake hands.
Shortly thereafter, I was briefed on the outcome of the service done. The only thing that was not fixed is a “ticking noise” from the under the hood that shows up at idle and in reverse. I suspected The EVAP canister purge valve as the source of the noise. However, the service technician believes otherwise as the valve has been replaced and the “ticking noise” still persisted. This was fine with me as I suggested I would try to locate the source of the ticking noise myself and come back later on to be checked again.
Also, the low-level automatic transmission fluid was judged to be okay by the service technician. That is fine too.
However, once I got in my CL-S, I was faced with a very disappointing surprise. 100 miles of alleged road test has been done (Miles when checked in: 30451; miles when picked up 30550).
Why in the world a service technician needs to do a 100 miles road test? This is more than driving to Boston and coming back. Moreover, half of gas tank was consumed. And, whoever drove my car did not even bother filling it back with gas.
To say the least, I have to vent out my real disappointment. A 100 miles road test is unjustifiable.
I just wanted to inform you about my experience, so measures can be taking to stop getting out customer cars on a joy ride.
Best regards,
.....

The in and out miles are the same on the service document. The od shows 100 miles has been driven...
I guess if you're really pissed, I would also mention the possibilty of taking it to a different dealer for service (if that's an option) in the future and mention that you'll be contacting Acura Customer Service.
That's what I'd do... YMMV

Use your grammar checker before sending it out....
Also I would be a little more forceful in expressing your anger. Ask them to look into who worked on your car. Ask them for a free service, something...
You know that those weren't 100 grandma miles..... Pretend you own an NSX and are anal about keeping the milage down....
Did you know yourself how many miles were on your car when you left it? 100 miles seems like way too many miles for someone to take on a "joy ride". Maybe there was a typo?
Also... one other thought? Maybe your car was given as a loaner? I know it sounds stupid, but it could happen im sure.

Have you seen the CL-S TV spot where the guy drives from New York to Boston just to get some clam chowder, and when the cafe owner asks the guy if he's here for vacation, the CL-S owner says "No, lunch". That's what they did to your car!!!!
That sucks Elefant ass....
No 100 miles is not a typo. As indicated on the service document: checked in at 30450 miles... got it back at 30551 miles.. And I am sure about the milage as I checked it myself when I dropped my CLS...
Half tank is gone...
Imagine they wanted to keep my CLS for more road testing...Kiss my ass....

Nashua, check this thread out IMMEDIATELY! This guy says he drove a black CL-S as a loaner while his car was being serviced at NH acura. The guy claims it was a black cls w/ 18" nittos. Hesaid he drove it 4 abt 100 miles and then used 1/2 tank of gas and didn't fill it up. Sounds fishy bro...
