I fell in love last night guys....READ ON!
I stopped off at GNC to get my health fix for the next couple weeks, and also to buy some DVD's at the store next door.
As soon as I pulled into the parking lot, I parked far out as usual,
and to my surprise, a YELLOW EVOLUTION was parked there as well!
WOW is all I have to say. I haven't seen one in person until last night, and it's all I can think about.
The interior looked MUCH better than the pictures, and it looked extremely comfortable.
It had NC plates, and it was a yellow one. I flipped. I looked at it for 20 minutes!
The Recaro seats look amazing, and the Yokohama tires looked extremely sticky.
Only had part is that I've heard they are marking them up $5K-$7K around here, and some dealerships have told friends of mine that it's in limited release right now.
What do you guys think of the EVO?
Would it be reliable?
It would MURDER our cars every which way possible.

SEriously the EVO I think is ugly as hell... and Yea you should wait for the STI... they did test on the STI and Rx-8 and some other cars... The STI blew all competition away. Plus the EVO is way overpriced since they know the true enthauist will buy it right away. But wait for the STI if you want to go that route...

Sort of just like when the PT cruiser came out... they overpriced that POS boogie board fanny ride by 5-7K and look at them now.. the dealers have millions of them... and they told everyone that they were gonna be limited edition...LOL
I know I am comparing apples to oranges but just stating the facts on the overpricing hitch.

EVO= totally ugly...even if it is a scorcher. I'll keep my CL-S....speed, comfort, style....NICE!
FWIW, I think that WRX looks like crap too. The new turbo Neon is a little better but still crap. For me, there is more to the equation than speed. Now if it was just for the track I might sing a different tune but I am never going to spend $30K (or $50K with the mark-up) for a track car.

I saw the car for the second time in MT and in the newer issue i think it looks 10 times better in blue.........they also estimate a 0-60 in 5.0 seconds, not too shabby.

I think the color depends on the outcome of the overall car.
It looks so different in yellow as opposed to black!
I like it, and its a tough decision as to if I'd be willing to trade up luxury for straight up speed...............
The #'s on it are AMAZING though. I'm sure there will also be lots of mod's available for it.

its nice... BUT, this is how i think... EVO is VERY NICE.... but! think about it tho, would you pay $30,000 for a LANCER???? Its like you pay $30,000 for a Corolla with turbo... yes, it might be fast, in fact, real fast, but isnt it its a little too pricy to pay for a ecnobox? I would rather get something more comfort and more high class... thats just my thoughts...

I'd much prefer the STi...
I saw the EVO in person. To me it looked REALLY cheap, (it was in Red), the Altezza's make it look like rice, and the interior was the same as the Lancer.
$30k for a fast Lancer? No way. STi is the way to go IMO if you like cars like that

I do agree 100% with you that the car is hot. It looks good, has a nice int, and handles great. The problem is that it really is apples and oranges. You simply cannot compare the two cars. IMHO...
Ideal setup:
1 Corvette Z06
1 Sti
1 NSX
1 Lambo (choose according to prefs)
1 S500 Bullet edition (you'll need it)
1 Hummer
Aw fvck it, I really need one of everything to be happy, and until then, the CLS6 is my ideal mix of all... I would love the EVO, but not as much...

Personally, I think they are hideous! It's so boxy, and not a bit sleek. They sit too tall-like a Toyota echo-(yuck) True, they are fast-but they are UUUGGGLLLYYY! 30k SHOULD get you style. 30k WOULD get you a new CL!

I love Evolution very much also, especially its look. The bad things about it are its rough ride and its relatively cheaper interior. But since the U.S. version have H.I.Ds and 6 disc in-dash CD changer and sunroof then I guess its not so bad. But compare to cars like Acura CL or BMW 3-series, of course it's no comparsions to these fine cars as far as fit and finish and matierial quality. As far as performance, on the other hands, there is NO WAY 3.2CL Type S or BMW 330i or Infiniti G35 can match with Lancer Evolution, no way. When considering about exterior styling, I would say its very subjective. In my opinion Evolution is better looking than CL-S, about the same good looking as 3-series coupe and G35 sedan/coupe.

I checked one out in the showroom the other day and it looked alot better in person than it did in pics. I dont think its a bad looking car, but its made more for performance. Throw about 5 g's into that car and it will be hard to touch.
