I escaped a disaster today, possibly a bad crash.
I put my new rims on today (just some 06 TL rims)
After driving around on them, i noticed when i braked the whole car CLUNKED.
So i drove around a little more, then i started feeling some vibration coming from the rears.
So i took some friends to dinner going 55 on a highway and noticed the vibration getting stronger...stronger and it turned into the worst noise i've EVER heard in my life.
Shit.
So i pull into a gas station, checked my back left wheel, fine.
Back right wheel, I could've twisted the lugs off with my fingers. I felt like a moron. I must have forgot to tighten the lugs when putting the wheel back on.
I tightened my back right wheel, checked the rest of em, no more vibrations from the rear.
All is well now, make sure you double check your NUTS!
flame on.

Well,....... You know you'll never make that mistake again, so your good to go!
Glad no one got hurt! Cause that could have been so bad.
I let a crack head of a co worker back in 98, help put the tire back on my girlfiends car after a brake job. He did the same thing, ad I did not check them. So about 3 min after she left, she called crying cause her tire almost fell off!

haha. i did that just yesterday. but it wasn't on my CL, it was on my other car I did a brake job on and forgot to tighten the lugs on the right rear wheel. after that we went out to eat/testdrive the car. On the way back, strong wobbling noise starter on the highway. By that time I knew thats what it was.

good u ok.
U never want to be rolling around with loose NUTS.
"IT'S DANGEROUS"
always DB check ur NUTS.
Knock on wood that has neva happened to me, I think I am just too anal/careful to let that happen.
Unless it was SB else offcourse that did it to the wheels.

i also double check my lugs too... never happened to me, although my girlfriend did drive from NY to CT on loose lugs...
sho pulled up and thought she got scammed on her new "used" car purchase, and though something was wrong with the car...
I isolated the vibration after driving, back passenger wheel, and was planning to check brakes and rotors when i got the lug wrench out and realized the lugs were loose.
