Smitty can be the king as long as Dave (dfreder370) is the Zen Master

.... Dave is the Master of powdercoating... I am just his trusty sidekick.

I am trying to think of more parts to send him for next winter...

Actually I might send the Scalbert Intercooler off to him to get some High Gloss Black PC'ing when I get it next winter.

Hey: Thanks for the compliments. But I do this for a living, so I better be good at it. If you guys (and gals) need anything done, I'll consider doing it for you, but here is what you need to know:

The part(s) have to be able to survive 400F for one hour or so. This rules out a lot of plastics, but nylon can be powder coated.

It has to fit in my oven, naturally.

The parts (metal) need to be squeaky clean. Sandblasting works fine.

You pay shipping both ways. Carl handeled this nicely by having a return label enclosed with his shipment to me.

I will mask where required, coat and cure. No cleaning.

And I will do my level best. My standards are pretty high.

I get all my paint for free, so don't worry about that being a cost to you.

I'm assuming you have seen the calipers I did for Carl in another post.

I've been asked, once again to be a speaker at Coatings 2004 about this unique, hot powder coating technique, necessary to do castings. And once again, my director has forbidden me from doing so because I work in R&D. Much of my stuff is either proprietary or patent pending.

I can do this at home, as soon as I bring home a spare controller and a gun. So for me, this is kind of a hobby.

Keep in mind that unless something changes very soon, I am off to China on 4/12 and back 4/26. Chicago>San Fran>Shanghai>Schzou>Shanghai>Beijing>Shanghai>Tai pei>San Fran>Chicago. So, maybe any short term projects had best wait until later.

I kid you not, back at work, I have a clear powder coated McDonalds quarter pounder with cheese!

Jesal: No problem, as long as it fits into my oven, and it can withstand 400 degrees F. Maybe we should get together on a weekend so we can go over color charts. There is no sense taking anything off your car until I have the powder. What you wanna do?

And no, I cannot do an entire car (Iknow you were kidding.)
