I don't feel so bad anymore

I have been doing some research on 350Z mods for a customer and I noticed that 350Z's have a serious problem with their trannies. There was a thread devoted to tranny replacements and one of the first guys wrote he had a tranny replaced at 4k and then at 12k was another. I don't feel so bad anymore about my CL-s. Before I hoped nothing would go wrong with my tranny everytime I drove the car, but now I feel a little better about us all being screwd.

I think the opposite. Every time I get in the car I hope the tranny will die so I get a TL loaner for a week.

I think the tranny issues on the 6-speed Zs and Gs was early on. I don't frequent the G board anymore but I don't think they are having too many now.

All cars have issues be it turbos, trannies, electric, engine, or simply quality and the CL/TL is no different. unfortunately it seems as though we have a higher rate of tranny failures than most.

they replaced mine before it actually died. i told them i heard a humming sound from up front and they said there was some wear in the tranny and wanted to replace it. it came in 2 days, and they replaced it in one. so it was about 3 days total. i guess it depends on the dealer as to how long you will get a loaner. my dealer usually loans out TSX's.

I remember someone saying in a post that they dropped their car off at PAA for a new tranny at like 730am and they were finished by 12 that afternoon .. I guess they do so many that they are pretty good at it.

Nissan seems to build GREAT auto trannies but terrible manuals. Honda is the opposite...I think a merger is in order.

I went in just for an oil change a few weeks ago and just left my Unichip installed rather than going through the hassle of removing it. Turns out the dealer actually performed the recall on my car while I was waiting there and installed the oil jet kit. I was shocked when I saw that on the service order as I was paying for the oil change. I have no idea if they noticed the Unichip though.

I always leave my chip in when I go to the dealer, including when the oil jet got installed. there is no reason they should need to go anywhere near the ECU to install the oil jet though. so no way they could've noticed it ......
