I can get the S2000 for $29K

I should have never done it but since my girl went to the mall nearby I figured Ill vistit my friend at the Honda dealer

He told me they have the new 2004 S2000 and what I thought of it. I absolutely love the look of it, I think the car is done so perfect. I say the light blue with metallic blue interior and you can option it with a blue soft top. The convertible top is powered and now it comes with rear window defroster

nice 17" wheels and now with the 2.2 L torque has been bumped up a bit and the gearing has been revised. I know this is probably a repost but anybody looking for a Z I would go visit the Honda dealer first.

then the icing on the cake was when my friend told me he can give me one for $29K flat and also with 2.9 APR for 60 months

I dont think the car is a daily driver for my and also not enought to trade in my benz but I was tempted as a second car in the future.

simply awesome....let me put it to you this way the interior is better than some of the other sport cars costing $100K

interior bettter than the cl-s....and that means a lot to me

doesnt it look badass

I saw that car at a dealer two days ago, I'd buy it if I could get it.

And 29k sounds like a damn good price for a new one.

I actually did look and almost got the S2000 first. Test drove it a few times, and actually got the Accord at the same dealer, but the things I didn't like about the S2000 were:

Size: Absolutely tiny inside. I'm not a huge person, but it's very small.

Convertible only: I live in CT, which means I'd have the top up 70% of the time. The downsides of having a soft top (easily broken into, more noise, leaks, bad sight lines) were a major factor as I'd have it mostly up. If I lived in a warmer climate, then I'd get it in a second.

Torque: The new 2.2L is better, but it still has no balls down low. It wasn't very pleasant to be driven around town. Great at the track though.

Noise: The engine gets damn loud when reeved high. It seriously started to give me a headache. I had a short ram on my CL, yet the S2000 was MUCH louder.

Price: The S2000 is more expensive than the Z model I was looking at.

The S2000 is awesome, but just wasn't for me. I'd get the S2000 over a Z Roadster, but I wanted a hard top.

yea but cuzdaddy they sell the hardtop you can use all winter and top down in the spring, summer and fall

the interior has been revised but I havent compared it to now..also the new S2000 is quitier than the old

they really did their homework on the car and it shows...kept everything that works and improved what needed

even the body and shape looks about the same which means high resale value for all S2000

had they gone with different body it would of killed the resale value of the old a bit cause the new would more sought after

I heard about the hard top.. Supposedly it's a pain to install, has some fitiment issues, is $$, and messes up the handling balance of the car since it's so heavy. It's not a true replacement for a real coupe.

The 2004 S2000 is probably much better in all the areas I critiqued (power, noise, etc..), so it's great car now, but the convertible top thing is a deal breaker for me personally. I also miss the 9k redline. That was one of the things that made the car so damn unique.

The S2000 would be worse in the snow than the Z. If I live in a nicer climate...I'd pick the S2000!

wouldnt more torque be more problem with rWD

I think the S2000 with some 16's blizzaks would be good enough

its the most bang for the buck sports car....it has been improved for daily driving but even still its not recommended

this car is a great second car...so if you want a daily driver than maybe the Z would suite your needs better

I want the Z, but I can't get one down to $300 a month...so I don't think I'm going to get one....but I do have a few calls in to a few dealers....so I guess I'll see what happens!

I dunno...I think I would go with an S2000 over an S2200. It's not like there's a lot more tq. I think the S2000 will win the fun factor having higher redline and a more agressive suspension. a little extra tq and a softer suspension are more for daily driving. I would never buy a car as purpose built as this one as a daily driver.

the S2200 is a better car than the S2000...all around its better tires, wheels, suspension, headlights, performance is the same but its not biased toward extreme rPms and you hold torque for longer range

its engineered to perfection....there really is no room for improvement but they improved it somehow

s2k has a nice interior but its a damn windup toy. during normal around town driving feels like a civic. needs a better engine. the z is selling much better than the s2k for good reason. i would highly recommend anyone in the market for an s2k go check out the zr.

lou, buy it and dont make me come up to NYC and kick your ass if you dont. you know you're gonna love it so just get it already. one hint of advice....if you want to get out of buying the extended warranty (b/c you KNOW they're going to ask you when you're sitting down working out the numbers in finance) just tell them you're going to supercharge it which voids the warranty, which in turn makes your finance guys Sh!T right in front of you. now go buy it!

invoice may say $29,500 but thats not really their invoice......im sure they are still making money off you somehow, just not as much.

I think there were a few people on this board who recently got one and one guy was offered $29k but he didn't like the color that much, so he paid $30k and another guy paid $29k i think.

Very sweet car, especially for a lease considering they have excellent residual value........$19.5k after 36 months to be exact.

the only other money is 3% dealer holdback which most dealers wont get into anyway, especially on an S2000

Mark and Frank are the sales guys i deal with mostly and Charlie is the best with the finances. He stopped asking me about all the other stuff they usually do at closing...I buy through my credit union so they cant play with the interest rates the way the usually do

I'm sure it's only 29 cause of the financing. They make it up on the 2.9%. I got 1.9 on my SI last year. I'm sure if you bought it straight out, it would be like 31 or 32. After 60 months and putting 9g's down, your prob gonna pay 32 for the car.

The new suspension is softer, it's better for comfort, not all out performance. I would still buy the S2000 because I like the high redline and the firmer suspension. Wheels and tires wouldnt come into play in my descision. Not would headlights. How are the new ones better? I thought the old ones were pretty good.
