Brad-
Sorry for the bad news, but there is no truth to what you were told. Our plan is to run our existing Integras for the rest of the year before switching to the RS-X for next year. The CL-S is a great car, but we decided to stick to the smaller package... Thanx for your interest in RealTime!

Greetings,
Congrats on the Sebring sweep! A fellow member of my Acura CL forum (www.acura-cl.com) stated that in speaking with Peter Cunningham this last weekend, he had mentioned an Acura CL-S being prepped to run against the 330ci in the Touring class. Is this true? Will you being keeping the auto five (with tighter ratios), or swapping put for an NSX six-speed? Sorry to be so intrusive, but this is very exciting news for a CL-S owner!
Keep up the great work in 2001 and best of luck to each and every driver! You guys are truly a World Class outfit!

No problem. I was just busting your balls.
The e-mail was addressed from PC, but the thing that got me riled up was the quote, "Sorry for the bad news, but there is no truth to what you were told."
Now it's time to see if we can get some of that R&D they put towards the car into our own hands, especially the 1>2 shift defeat. I'd be interested to know just how far along they got with the car, if at all. Shit, I'd be willing to buy the car if it exists in race ready form! My wife is from Wisconsin and would love an excuse for a visit.

As I said in my first post P.C. told me the CLS had not been approved by the sanctioning body yet! Something must have happened post Sebring that made Real Time Racing change their collective minds. Towards the end of last year the BMW 6 cylinder had started to show its strength against the 4 cylinder Integra. In fact Real Time racing just barely won the manufacturers and drivers championship over BMW. However, the Integra started this year with relatively easy victory over the BMW's. That's not to say it wasn't a good race. It was, but you could tell Piere klinenubing was just hanging around in 2nd place until the last couple of laps when he made the pass and drove away for the win. I guess if I was Real Time I'd stay with the smaller package as well. If you can win with your 4 cylinder over another company's 6 cylinder that just about says it all. Although I'm still saddened that the CLS will not be show room stock racing. I wanted to see 6 cylinder against 6 cylinder!
