When I punch the gas and the tranny needs to downshift into 3rd it is an extremely hard shift into third. My CL is an 01 type S with 56,000 miles on it. Is this something that warrants me making an appointment with my dealer?

 

change your tranny fluid.

unless its slipping and/or throwing a code then dont take it in.

 

Is it hesitating at all before it shifts? Is there a noise at all when you punch it and it shifts?

The only time I had a hard shift was after my tranny downshifted from 5th to 2nd at about 55 mph. The engine mounts were broken when the tranny went. After the mounts broke, I felt it shifted hard.

 

There seems to be a little hesitation. Maybe I should make an appointment for the recall, so they can install that jet kit and inspect the tranny. I dont know if the previous owner took it in to be checked out.

 

Register on acuras owners link to see if the car has the oiljet installed or go out and look. You can see if its been installed

 

I registered on there and it Has that listed as something I need to go do, so I guess I am making an appointment. I wonder if I will get a loaner?
