Humming Noise
Hit 17,400 today, took the car in for a oil change and rotation to a local place.
No problems there, but as I was about 3-4 miles away I heard a humming noise coming from the engine compartment. Stereo and HVAC off. The noise is a constant medium loud humming noise, in the engine bay. This is probably the first time the car was suspended from a tradition vehicle lift ( 4 point frame ). Whats up? anyone else ever have this noise?
The car drives fine, no lights on dash. Need some help here?

Could be the antilocks-but it only is supposed to last a few seconds normally. If it's constant the mechanic may have done something to cause it when he rotated the wheels.

Well I got good news and bad news. I found out what was humming under the hood, thats the good news.
The bad news is that the place I got the oil change and rotation broke one of the saddle clamps on the far side of the air cleaner box. They must have checked the air filter ( replaced 1 month ago ) and then they jammed the fiter box top cover back into place they must have snapped off one of the clamps. Then they didn't tighten the screws down very hard. Once I grabbed it with both hands the humming went away.
I pulled the car into the garage, left the engine running, and traced the sound to the airbox. I'll be stopping by the place tomorrow to see if I can get them to pay for it. Maybe apply the $$ to the CAI.

Good new and bad news...
First, you should be cautious about going to those oil changer places. Haven't you noticed most of the people that work there ? Don't you know that the "IBM" days are over ! Meaning, not anyone can work on ANY car these days, but don't tell these fly by night oil changer joints that ! Also, if they had done any major damage, you'd be screwed out of your warranty with Acura ! Good news: bring your FABULOUS CL to Acura for services, so if some noise is present, just return it to Acura for FREE FIX !
Get it ?
