How to retrofit Bi-Xenon Projectors into stock housings...

I know some of the 1st gen guys have done this. Has anyone with a 2nd gen attempted doing this retrofit? I really would like to try & retrofit the Bi-Xenon projectors into my stock housings. If anyone knows how to do this please give your suggestions/ideas?

Thanks Silverbulit40...I checked out the site & it looks like I would have to send them my headlights for 1-3 weeks. I don't think I would be able to go without headlights that long. They do some good work though.

Do you have to open the headlight lens or can you just cut the hole from behind?

Would this be for the high-beams? Or just replace the stock HID low-beams?

sorry about the double post but its best if you open up the housing that way you can do the black housing at the same time if you like and its easier to clean up and actually do all the work

Thanks for the pics & tips. What do you use to mount the projectors after you cut the hole? Once they are mounted, is it adjustable so you can aim the beam?

i just screwed them to the back of the housing you can adjust them up and down with those screws or left to right with the stock adjuster.

heres a link to everything you could possibly want to know about xenon systems and retros.
http://faq.auto.light.tripod.com/

heres whats involved with just taking your headlamps apart
http://www.acura-cl.com/forums/show...ghlight=housing

as far as mounting them. PLAN AHEAD!!!

best advice
-use a wired dremel or similar tool not cordless
-use overkill bits (ex carbide bits that cut metal)
-keep it simple and as much oem as possible!
-dont modify anything unless there is no other way
-measure clearance behind headlamp

since its ur first time expect to spend at least one full day on one headlamp alone. the 2nd will go much faster

I got some projectors from VXCL a few months ago. I also bought an extra pair of headlight housing off an '01 CL-S which are cleared out w/ no diffusers. I bought an extra set of D2S bulbs. I'm just waiting to send it up to NYC to www.hidtech.com. They charge $275 for labor on the retrofit. I'm getting the housing blacked out for an extra $75. Money is tight right now, so that's all I'm waiting for.

Do you think I should have an Acura dealership reinstall these retrofit housings when I get them shipped back to me from NYC?

damn if you say money is tight why wouldnt you do all those things yourself?? i mean its pretty basic? and even if you dont, reinstaling the lights is a breeze i cant figure you bumper removal to be sooooo much different than ours. it takes like 5-10 minutes to take off.

time and money are the conditions. I don't know how to cut the housings so the projector lens can fit.

I still wouldn't know how far to shape the housings. Plus, I want the projectors to be aligned properly. If anyone knows and has some knowledge on retrofiting, please let me know. I'm reading up on the tools necessary to do it, and preburning the black paint because I want to color the housings black. It looks like it's too much for me to do for right now.

It took me about a month or so of research and reading for me to install my sub and amp because I just didn't know what exactly to do.

I've been doing research on the retrofit and it's very inclusive. you have to know what you're doing and I don't want to mess my extra pair of housings.

if this is the same guy i am thinking of, but he had a 99 tl. his car is really nice, and the projector is subtle but it was stunning to look at once he pointed it out to me. if i had the time, i would do it. it was really nice.
shouldnt be too hard, just alot of patience and some prior experience opening up headlights, cutting here and there.

hey i though this prst was dead. i had a death in the family and a bad christmas. i have also been working hard on another members headlamps.

stock

bmw x5 xenon

anyway i wish i would have checked this earlier. i just had about 10 ebay auctions and im wiped out. please keep in touch i will hook you up. i get so many pms and have so much going on i loose track of things.

i sold audi bi-xenons for $175 shipped with trim pieces. $155 w/0
reg xenon $140 shipped with trim pieces. 120 w/o
ballasts $165 shipped
bulbs $80 shipped
my prices change accordingly to whats on ebay. i will not have any more projectors or ballasts until the end of february.

my ebay id vx16

thank you so much for the compliments. makes it all worth it. i get used to my car and think its time to sell it until ppl like you
say things like that. my next project is going to be led tails.

and as far as this being easy its not. after 7 conversions i have to say the work sucks! making it look oem and utilize oem aiming is no easy task. just fitting projectors in is another story.
