How much power does the 5spd Auto hold???

There are several threads, but lets get some owners to give us dyno numbers or engine hp numbers and how the tranny reacts at those hp levels. Slapping on a comptech supercharger and intercooler plus headers is one thing for power but if your transmission cant handle all that extra power whats the use? And swapping the auto out for 6spd is so damn expensive you might as well not mod the car in the first place. What do you guys think? I know the transmission handles bolt-on's excluding the supercharger or a turbocharger, but with forced induction or nitrous for that matter, there is a new level of pressure on the transmission itself. Any opinions? Any dynos? Any auto transmission upgrades?

I think it depends on how you drive with regards to the stock tranny. For example, Bigguyonabike has the comptech supercharger w/ like a 9psi pulley and intercooler, etc and has had the car dynoed and I believe he hasn't had any problems that I can remember. I don't even think he has a tranny cooler not that I think the tranny cooler would do that much but I guess it helps. I'm sure the more stress you put on it(the harder you drive) the weaker it will become no matter FI'ed mods you add. There was one place people were using, Speed Distributors however they are out of business now and the two people I know of that used their trannies with either turbo or supercharger no longer have working trannies. There is also Dr. Evil whom I think said they can do one for $4500.00. Serge has on his accord and it is working great from what I hear.

FYI...The Dr. Evil tranny is only a 4 speed. They haven't developed one for us yet.

That is correct however I have spoken with them and that was the price I was quoted previously because I'm considering getting it even though I haven't had any tranny problems.

He had an upgraded transmission. And his shit broke. He's riding stock tranny now. . There's no hope for the transmission. Sorry guys.

My blown baby had 283whp/243wtq dyno'd on 92 octane and I was still running the original tranny (85k miles).

I had my tranny replaced 10,000 miles before the SC install and had no tranny issues, even though daily i would be running her hard. Make sure you have the tranny cooler installed and check the fluids.
