How much money have you spent on your CL?
I really want to get exhaust, probably HKS Super Dragers, but then I started to wonder how much I've spent on this car so far.
I'm just a (recently-graduated) college student and I noticed my bank account was getting a little low. :o![Big Grin](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
So I sat down and added up the car stuff (aside from scheduled maintainence and gas of course):
Money spent on car:
Lighting $100
Comptech springs and sways $500
Install $140
bumper gash repair $500
NEX coilovers $650
Alignment $40
Install $120 +tip
Camber kits $300
Install and alignment $100 + tip
Intake mods $50
'03 taillights $300
tint $130
-------------------
Total $2930
I think I learned a lesson about modding though... do it right the first time. It would have saved me a good $700-800 on the suspension.![Frown](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/frown.gif)
I think the way I'm going to look at it from now on is that any money I spend on this car is money I won't have to mod a future car. When I look at it that way I really don't want to spend any more on this car, as tempting as it is.
I'm sure 75% of you have me beat on how much you've spent, but that isn't even the point of this thread so much as just realizing how much you've spent is. I guess if I had a good job already I wouldn't even care about dropping a couple grand into the car but when you aren't working you really notice how much that is.
I can't say I regret it though - I love the way the car handles now and the way it looks.
I just have to get new tires soon (Kumhos sound good for $450) and I still want exhaust, but then I did just see F&F for the first time last night and that movie was pretty cool (aside from "nawssssssss") so that's part of why I want loud pipes now.![Big Grin](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
Btw, I wouldn't expect people like Astroboy, StreetEffectz, or 4pumpedCL to respond to this because they have put a lot into their cars (with amazing results) and that's really their business and I doubt they'd want to share numbers.

It takes me a while now to decide if I wanna mod anymore, becuase of the reasons above.
I had spent:
Rims/Tires: $1900
Navi mod+stuff: $1000
Springs/Install: $550
CAI: $250
Tints: $250
Lighting: $80
Grand total: $4030
holy shit, I never added them all up. And I always wonder where the hell my money goes.
The good thing is that i'm enjoying them while they last

trying to get a lil V-I
Injen CAI/Bypass - $230
TEIN SS Coilovers - $900
Alignment - $40
Recaro Cellphone holder - $23
OBX Chrome Pedals - $30
Additonal OEM tires - $170
JBL 300.1 Amp - $140
Amp wiring kit - $40
TOTAL - $1573
Damn...that is a lot of money. The first two items alone were over $1k...
And to think I was about to get rims and tires...
Like you JRock, I recently graduated and I'm living on my own. Now I know why I go back to zero after every months payments.

Let's put it this way. Don't think of it as money spent on a car. Think of it as money spent making you happy.
Ask yourself this... Way back when you first got your car bone stock, if I told you that you could spend $2k (or however much you spent), to improve every second of the time you spend in your car over the next 2 years, would you have spent that money?
And I'm pretty sure I know the answer.

So far approximately $3,030.
Tints: $120
Comptech springs (plus install and alignment): $500
PIAA roadlamps: $15
Tire Kingdom 3 year alignment warranty: $120
Wheels/tires: $2275
And I really don't think I should spend more since I'll probably want to get rid of it as soon as the warranty runs out, in about one year, but I'd like to add some bass, get the Comtech exhaust, and probably an intake. So who knows.

I'm even thinking about some coilovers now too, which I should've gotten in the first place. The Comptechs don't go low enough, I wish they were about a half inch lower all the way around.
