How much did all of you pay for you 2001 CL Type-S?

I'm thinking about buying one. I was wondering how much you payed for your cars? What do you like and not like about your car? Any problems with it? What kind of gas mileage do you get? Thanks.

-$28,500 before tax and fees (see sig.)
-I like everything about it except the wheel protrusion which makes it very easy to scratch the wheels on curbs and such
-no problems but only have a little over 600 miles since I got it late last month
-Don't know the gas mileage. Haven't been keeping track yet.

Wow! No sales tax in Oregon. I should move there :-)

I paid 28,700, no NAVI, car had mud guards and wheel locks. That is before tax (which is 6.75% and in other counties 7.75%) and registration fees and plates. After all those extras I think the total was around $30,500 or so.

I think the final price was $28,750 for the cl-s with no additional options. I purchased the car in October, 2000. Absolutely no problems and I am glad that I found this site. The site at edmunds tended to be a little dull!

$30,750 + TTL, Type S w/Nav: tint, wheel locks, splash guard, VIN etching.
I got the car 2 weeks ago and has 300 miles. Love the car except why were there no fog lamps (standard or option).

The CLs don't come with fog lamps, only lower driving lights. Many of the people on this board, like me, are replacing the bulbs in the driving lights to better match the headlights. The part number is PIAA 19169 and the run $14-16. If you want 'fog lamps' they will have to be installed separately.

Purchased in June 00.

$31000 w/Navi, Burl Shifter, destination fee, and the incomparable Smokers Package ($150 "specially wired" cigarette lighter and ashtray). Minus the $4500 trade in (kbb value) for my old 94 Teg which did have brand new rubber and also featured a dead battery, dead passenger automatic window and a thrice cracked windshield. All of which my excellent dealer knew about before the deal. Couldn't be happier.

It's an one-time service you can buy from many dealers (at least in CA) that protects the car's interior (leather/vinyl/fabric) and exterior paint.

The dealer contracts out to local detailers the job of coming out to your home or business and applying the exterior and interior finish/protection products. The exterior finish stuff is supposed to have a 5-year warranty against hard-water etching, acid rain, bird droppings, tree sap, etc. Interior is protected against food/drink stains, fading, etc.

It's quite pricey...only time will tell if it was worthwhile or not.

I just drove my San Marino Red Type S home on Saturday for $29,400 including Spoiler, Mud Guards, Front end Cover, Fenderwell Trim and Destination Fee in the price. Of course tax and title/plate transfer were extra (i couldn't get them to swing that in the deal).

All in all i was happy with the price of the Type S. I traded in my '99 Prelude SH with 32K miles and got $18,000 for it. I probably could of gotten $19K on the street, but didn't have time for the hassel of receiving calls and letting others test drive it.

Can't wait till the break in period is over!

$29950 with spoiler, muds, and roof visor. Bought 9-00. Pushing 8000 miles with no problems. I tend to trade early and often, but I see myself keeping this car a while. At least untill they do a significant upgrade on the car. Any word yet on future CL-S's?

I think I was very lucky in finding one used from Carmax in black at $26,000 with the navigation system, mudguard, and spoiler. It had 12,800 miles on it. I went to four different dealers for the predriven cars and they wouldn't budge below $28,000 without the navigation system. Called Carmax to hold the car and bought it on the same day in mid-March 2001. Ran Carfax on the car and found it was previously leased (expected), otherwise it was clean. Came close to picking up an Integra GS-R, thank GOD I didn't!
