Many members here have over 150K miles and have not had their valves adjusted yet. Better see what that noise is!

when are we supposed to adjust the valves?

valve adjustment

I got my 6-speed certified pre-owned at 25k miles. I asked the dealer where I purchased (Ball Acura, I wouldnt deal with them again... certified pre-owned 800 point inspection my ass..) about the obviously noisy valves and they said that was "normal"...
Took my car in for the 30k service of at Acura of Pasadena, and agreed they need to be adjusted-- engine sounds much better now, good thing the powertrain is warranted to 100k
Maybe is the crappy california 91 octane, or maybe the previous owner didnt know how to drive stick...
Not to say that valve problems are endemic to our cars, but it happened to mine.

I've been told that you can let the adjustments go without hurting the car but it will be noisy and performance will suffer. I have my cars done every 30K.

I have had 2 done in less then 30K miles. Once for noise at 15K. Again at 20K by another dealer to fix the crappy job the first dealer did.

That's what my GSR called for. Not sure what the CL's manual calls for.
