the couple races i've had..i held the brake down and revved it to around 1 rpm and let go of the brake and floor it to launch..works fine to me...i dont know if any other methods are any better..but after that i shift using the SS...you gotta got the timing down pretty good in order to get any advantage over the D5 mode..and turning VSA off removes any possible automatic braking that will slow you down during a race..since thats what its there for...if you peel out you'l notice that your VSA kicks in..if it kicks in during launch you wont get as fast of a start...and that's one of the more important parts of the race

i recomend using SS on the street...gate at the track...bring your front tire pressure down to 25 cold psi and rears as high as youre comfortable with ...i use about 45 on the street...i use the 2 foot methodmy left foot on the break and my right foot just touching the gas ,but not giving it any...as the light turns i feed it throttle with a rythmic flow taking one full second to go from idle to WOT...ofcourse VSA is disabled...new tires will help you alot (if you're using stocks)
