How important are shocks/struts?
I plan on getting comptech springs with the 19's rims. How important is it that I get shocks/struts? There the same thing with different names, just the front and rear right? Is one more important than the other? Thanks for any suggestions.

you can ride on the stock shocks for a lil, but not to long cuz youll blow them. there are quite a few brands you can get: tokico, koni, etc. (best to do a search) and when you do replace them dont just replace the front or rear, do all of them.
also think about coilovers. they might be expensive but well worth it.

Ive had my aftermarket springs on stock shocks for 20k miles...I am just starting to feel the harsher ride that would indicate that I need to replace the shocks (Im going w/ Coilovers personally)...But save up for a while...You'll be OK for a year or so.

As many have said before, lowering will significantly decrease the life of the stock shocks. Aftermarket shocks will also perform a lot better in terms of handling.
The strongest argument in favor of replacing the shocks at the same time as the springs is the fact that the shocks have to be removed to install the springs. In other words, you should not have to pay any additional labor to install the shocks. If you wait to change shocks later, your bill for labor will be considerable.

the spring and shock are matched for a good comprimise of performance and comfort in most cases.
There is heigh adjustability, and in some cases rebound, compression and dampening adjustability as well.

cost...depends what you get, but in any case it will be more than springs/shocks bought separately unless you get something super custom.
