How hard is it to

First remove the stock air intake? What has to be done to do it?
How hard is it to make your own CAI? What is needed to do so and how do you put your custom CAI together?

No you do not have to remove the bumper ! You can remove three fastening clips and one screw from the splash guard under the driver side and pull the splash guard back against the tire. There will be two 10mm bolts a small ratchet removes that fasten the resonator box down. Under the hood its pretty self explanatory. As far as making the CAI you need to get 4mm aluminum(polished is nice) tubing approx. 26"inches long with a mandrel bend 5 inches from the end, a K&N Filter RF-1007 is nice, and a heat resistant coupler. DO NOT use PVC pipe as it will emit noxious fumes as it is heated and possibly KILL you If you must use plastic....... Use ABS Plastic ... Or buy one of mine

Not necessary to remove the bumper, but I did it to be sure if fit.

The bumper comes off in a 10minutes, were not talking of the metal support, just the plastic covering. It is very light.

Once removed everything is exposed. I found that there is a bolt that could do damage to filter is a CAI is not installed properly. A simple adjustment to the CAI gave plenty of clearance to this bolt.

But now that this is known; the bumper would not need to be removed to install the CAI. But it is easy enough to do to insure a proper installation.
