I have a 2001 CL P Automatic and I was driving down the highway and when my car hit 148 - 149 MPH, it just floated at that speed. At first I thought it was because of the speed limiter, then I looked down and it was in 4th gear instead of fifth gear so I thought that was the issue. I would have to say that it was the speed limiter though, because it wasn't even red-lined and it didn't have any power to go faster. Still, that seems wierd if it was a speed limiter. All the cars that I have been in that had speed limiters always "bucked" when they hit it.

RIght off the stealership used car lot I pulled a 15.1 with my 01 auto CLs.
The IMRC was not working. It took it to a mechanic who cleaned the throttle body and did an injector flush. I yanked the intake resonator and put in a drop in K&N filter and pulled consistent 14.8's. That is with the IMRC back with the program.
After replacing the stock crank pulley with an Unorthodox pulley I run 14.7 to 14.6 QM's depending on the weather.
The Cl's love cold weather and low humidity. The next step is the Outlaw Engineering intake spacers.
My guess is a stock Cls auto will run 14.8 to 14.9 in the Quarter.

my clp is as much fun to drive as any other car on the road. i've owned a 93 mx6 ls and a 2000 trans am before and sure the trans am is freakin' fast but it's not luxurious, it is what it is ... a sports car. a couple of mods here and there and you can really get out cars to move...intake, headers, exhaust maybe some sway bars and you're gonna have more than enough power and handling to enjoy a nice sunny day on the highway. now i have my eyes on a 99 berlinetta one day...maybe in a few years...and then i can be bitching about topping out at 195 mph instead of 200. for now, i get compliments everywhere i go on my dropped CL-P.
