yah i like my cls engine sounds a lot.below 3000 rpm. it is quiet and powerful still.but over 3000rpm to 6000rpm..it roars and just push me into my seat.i can really feel vtec power and 260 HP.that will pass over most of the cars on the street easily.

The sound of the car with AEM CAI during VTEC is the best!

Great sound with intake and headers...

BTW -- I still like the sound of the V6 in the old 246 Ferrari Dino and the sound of the air-cooled Porsches...

i love the sound Low rpm's it's great because the engine is pretty quiet and makes this nice hissing(maybe not the right term) noise and when that VTEC scream starts going, yeaH! my brother heard that VTEC scream for the first time and was like damn that engine sounded real nice when the RPMs got high. hehe booYA!

I love the deep, aggressive roar from my headers and the stock exhaust system when I put my foot into it. I'm still hesitant to put up with the loud noise that an AEM CAI makes at higher RPM. Maybe the Comptech CAI (when it's finally released) will be less abrasive?

I believe Mike B. did state that they were aiming for something that isn't obtrusive in the ears, though I think short of adding a hp robbing resonator, it'll be louder than stock ...

Tech, get the intake. Trust me, i was as concerned as you about noise. But it only comes on at 5500 rpms or so and it is just sweet. I only wish i had done it sooner. It's perfect with headers and exhaust. Do it !!

Not necessarily: My intake replaces all that crap below the airbox with just a flexible aluminum tube. Barely louder than stock, but much better airflow.
Yes, it still uses the stock airbox (with a Comptech hi-flow filter on it).
