I was wondering how you know when it goes bad? What are the symptoms?

 

Erratic or inability to idle or maybe even a consistent high idle. Why, what is going on??

 

This morning....I came to a stop light and the cars idle dropped a little bit, it felt like it sputtered a bit. I had the fuel pressure regualtor fixed already

 

The IAC valve also controls cold-start.. so if your cold-start idle is NOT higher than 1K RPM, then you might have an issue.

Also. check for DTC 00505 - if I am not mistaken, its the IAC error code... I get it often

 

I just talked to my service guy.....he said the idle fluxuates up and down, and most of the time the check engine light comes on... I trust what he says!

 

the car will rev by itself from 1k to almost 2k. I had mine replaced. also when you drive it, the car speeds up by itself too.

 

Speaking of which, what is the story with that. Did u get my last PM about it?

Yup P0505 is the code for a crapped out idle motor .
