How do you do a burnout???

Hey guys,

How do you do a burnout on a RWD car? How about a FWD car? Any problems this causes in the long run?

Thanks

RWD....step on the brake and floor it. FWD is a little trickier....you have to spin the motor pretty high to induce wheel slip (remember to have the Parking brake on) and you have to feather the clutch.

Doing e-brake burnouts on a front-driver isn't great for the rear brakes, but it will work. RWD simply involves putting down more power than the tires will hook up to the pavement. In my case, that involves disabling AH (active handling) and stepping on the gas!

make sure the traction control is off...in your m3 it easy as F**K get the tach up to about 2100,,,then drop it into first and then floor it!!!...try not to hold on the brakes good way to warp rotors. (Especially in RWD) you should be able to light the tires for a good 5-10 seconds. FWD same concept, works better on a slight incline though...especially if the car roll back a bit in Idle.
BUT NEVER PUT IT IN NEUTRAL AND REV AN AUTOMATIC THEN DROP IT INTO DRIVE!!! GREAT way to drop the transmission.

In the CL-S all you have to do is turn VSA off and floor it. It doesn't hurt if there are stones under the tires also to induce slippage.

I am looking for a standing burnout, not a tire spin to get to 60. Just a standing burn out that I see with lots of smoke coming from the tires. Do you hold down the brake completely or lightly?

work from 7am to 10 pm every day, 7 days a week. then be sure to have fights with the neibors and friends. repeat this for 3 years without mental support!

thats how you get or do a good burnout

I'm not sure what the best rpm is for the M3 so you'll have to play around with it but 4,000 rpm should be sufficient. You shouldn't have to use the e-brake. Just put it in 1st, rev the engine, and pop the clutch. The higher you rev it, the more wheelspin you will get. Just don't redline the engine and pop the clutch. The only car that I know of that can survive that is a Porsche 911 Turbo S.

How do you do a burnout?

Well I usually offer her pot, then bang her.

That's how you do a burnout.

Hold the brake just enough to stop the car from pulling. Don't mash it, wear out rear brakes. I usually have some windshield liquid in the trunk so I pour some over the rear wheels to get it nice and slippery. On a FWD car I just step on or pull up the ebrake and floor it.

Im not big on burning tires and pro racing on the street. I drive the car because its a great sports car. I know about BMWs in general. I don't know much about the technical aspects of it. Thats why I'm asking guys like you these questions. I help you in my field of expertise and you help me in yours (technical).

Hmmm.. I thought bimmers were all RWD? If so, no need to activate your e-brake. Hold down your brakes 80% and floor it. Be sure not to hit the rev limiter during all of this... not good for your engine!!

WORKS FOR ME!

Pour ammonia on your tires.
You'll have the whole block covered in a
mushroom cloud of disgusting white smoke and rubber.

Half an hour later you'll still have smoke
coming out of your trunk and hood.

Great fun.

find a hill ... face the car uphill... and then floor it .
In my CLS I could do this when I put it in neutral, accelerated a bit and then shifted to D5.
