How do i make my fog lights brighter
#2
Uses turn signals in my
change the bulbs, there are several to choose from, the ones i used are PIAA 19224 (about $15 for the pair) and they decently match the HID low beams in the headlights.

'08 MX5 GT 6spd.
These 2 options will change the color, but as far as brightness...........I dont think so. The arent really meant to be foglights, they are just there for effect. I would personally save yourself the time and pain of trying to get the right bulb. As soon as you get a color you like, itll burn out (as I experienced). If it were my decision, I would buy the '03 spacer (which will be cheaper than PIAA bulbs at the dealership.)
Here are some before and after of my '01-'03 conversion as well as one with my old Polarg M6 fog set up. They look bright in the over-exposed pic, but I can assure you, they are nothing compared to the HID's. If you have and sort of, or plan on buying a HID upgrade (like my Ultinons) there is no bulb that will match the color.

If you really feel the need for brighter "foglights" and not just accent lighting, do what fuzzy did with the '03 insert and an aftermarket set of lights. His look pretty good IMHO.

If you search thru "roadlamp" threads, you will see my comparison pics.

i'll still divided.
i like the way the roadlamps look in sayyyy... this picture, but at night with the lights on, even with upgraded bulbs like the piaa's and polargs it can't stand up to the hid's.
I like what fuzzy and cleanCl have done with theirs.

you guys are funny, did you forget what fog lights are supposed to be? first of all they cant be too bright or it defeats the purpose of them, it will just make the fog more apparent and harder to see through. second, if you match them up with the HIDs then it will be really really white, you want the fog to have a bit or a lot of yellow in them because the yellow will show through the fog better. The whiter it is, the more it will bounce off the fog back at you.
the CL does look good and it's looked good from day one. The CL_S looks more substantial in that picture because its closer and is in front of the TL. so of course its going to look more substantial.
I know this is an old thread, but someone revived it.

Personally, I never saw the need for them. I had fogs on my Maxima and liked having them on, but only really needed them a couple times. I have them on my current cars, and again, I don't know if I will ever really need them.
I think if you really need true fog lamps and not the road lamps that the CL have, then get HID fogs. Anything else is a waste of time and money.
