In order to activate your OnStar system, you will need to first choose a subscription plan. Browse our Plans and Services to see all of the invaluable safety, security, and convenience services OnStar provides. Then follow the instructions below.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Push the blue OnStar button in your vehicle.
If a live OnStar Advisor responds, ask the Advisor about the status of the OnStar services in your vehicle.
If you hear a recorded message, push the blue button a second time to speak to a live Advisor.
NOTE: If you are not connected with OnStar after pushing the blue OnStar button in your vehicle, please contact us at 1.888.4.ONSTAR (1.888.466.7827) and an Advisor will assist you.

Yeah as of the end of this year, OnStar will be discontinuing their service for cars with analog hardware (there is no way to upgrade to digital hardware). This means anything made before 2004 (maybe it's 2005) will no longer be able to have the service. Plus the prices they charge for the phone service is ridiculous. Your better off gettin' a hands-free kit for your phone.

Do you have a navi system, cause thats where the GPS receiver is also. You'd have to have a body shop bondo the hole and then paint and clearcoat it. It'd be a lot of money spent to remove it.

Seems like a ton of work to remove it. The covers don't look bad but I'd worry about them gettin' water in there and messin' up the pain on ya (and the covers could cause issues with the GPS). Leave it how it is would be my suggestion.
