Thinking about getting the 19 pcs wood kit..What is involved in a

If you buy the Acura woodtrim....there is doublesided tape behind the trim. Just peel off the top part of the tape and stick it on. I put crazy glue behind my fake wood and stuck it on. Trying to align the trim to match correctly will be your only problem.

I think it's an aftermarket trip, but with the OEM look, autocarparts.com sells them...

It's very easy. Like ThoroDred said... it just has sticky tape on the back, so you just stick it in place. I added a nine piece kit to my CL when I had it and it took about a 20 min.. I cleaned each area to remove any Armor-All type of residue, then lined up everything and stuck it down.

Man you got ripped off. The wood trim kit is so easy to install, granted aluminum might be harder but it shouldnt be. I have installed two and all you have to do is clean the area with rubbing alcohol, apply the included adhesive promoter to the area (comes in a tube that you just squeeze on), line up the pieces, peel the tape backing off, stick on the piece, polish, and you are done. Please dont pay $100 to get it done

The adhesive is already on the woodtrim. It's 3M double sided tape. One side is stuck to the wood and the other side is what sticks to the area you're applying the piece too. It's very easy....

Is the Acura kit real wood or pseudo? Also, is the Acura wood steering wheel real wood or pseudo. Are there any aftermarket manufacturers that make real wood kits 4 the CL (the black wood one?)

Unfortunatelly not, and I dont know of any aftermarket kits that
would have the real thing. I imagine something like that would be real expensive too...

I don't think that there are any real blackwood kits b/c that type of wood does not exist in nature. There are real woodtrim kits which match the factory wood though. Typically they're a little more then the pseudo wood kits. Honestly, they both look good and you really can't tell a difference though. I had a kit in my CL and the 7 piece kit was around $215, so that gives you an idea of price. That was also 3 years ago. The only way you knew it was real wood was to look at a cross-section of the wood. When it was mounted, there was really no difference.

As for the Acura kit and Steering wheel.... they are fake wood, just like the stock trim....

Thanks 4 the info bro, I might get a new Cls by the summer (hopefully 6speed) and am def going w/ the black interior if i'm lucky enough 2 get the car. So i was curious if the aftermarket had the blackwood trim that came on the CL's from 01-02. I planned on putting the wood kit on the radio and navi screen, and on the steering wheel. But since u tell me there really isn't much of a diff. b/w the acura one vs. aftermarket, i'll prob get the acura ones via using the old part #s 4 them.

Also, do u think, it'll look tacky 2 have the wood trim on the radio and steering wheel since the doors and side of the radio will have the aluminum finish(since its an 03 Cl)? i don't think it wood but i'd appreciate ne comments
