From what I am hearing, it is strongly recommended that YOU DO NOT USE the K & N Filter charger cleaning kit for the Comptech Foam filter. If you are having a hard time locating Comptech's cleaner, just goto a Motorcycle Shop (Honda, Yamaha, etc.) and ask for the stuff to clean and re-oil a 'UNI' filter (which is the same filter Comptech used in the drop in replacement, and my guess in the Cold Air).

I believe using the K & N Cleaning kit might destroy the foam filter element, but never tried it (not planning on it either ).

Here ya go

K&N

Just go buy a real filter and quit worrying about that foam garbage..

the product number is K&N
RU-2590 Universal Air Filter, then you can use the K&N filter cleaner & oil.

It just makes it easier to clean... and I personally like the K&N better, since us Supercharged guys need to clean our filters more often... I don't think the foam will hold as well as the K&N and others agree.. so we changed over.

just cleaned mine w/ the UniKit from CT. Cost 13.00 + shipping and it was a BREEZE to clean .. totaly took 10 minutes ... longest part was just waiting for the foam to dry so I could re-install the filter.. took 1 hour to dry.
