How to aim headlights?

no flames, I searched first .. no results

How do I re-aim the headlights? The manual says to take it to dealer. Thats ridiculous though .. ever since I got the CT springs my headlights have been too low and I want to bring them back up a bit.

From chod's faq

How to level/adjust the lights
This should be done when lowering the car to preserve the amount of area lit by the lights.
Note that you should 'measure' the current level of the lights by shining the lights on a brick wall prior to lowering the car. (or a similar method).
To adjust the lights, find the 3 tooth screw just behind the headlights, and turn that.

look behind the headlight, there will be a nut that u can turn to aim the headlights up and down. u'll need to remove the fluid bottle to have easy acess to the left adjustment nut. I re-aimed my lights but it didn't seem to ligt the road as well as pre springs(I think the rake look has something to do with it.

Thanks guys for the responses, I appreciate it. Hopefully it will throw a little more light on the road. But I'm sure the rake will have an effect on it like you said. If it doesn't help much I guess I'll have to get fogs, but i'm not buying fogs unless they are HID .. and thats alot of cash

Fog lights don't increase visibility distance

OK....ur not looking for a nut...ur looking for a slot that'll hold a philups screwdriver. The slot looks kinda weird so if u don't know what I'm talking about then you'll prolly have a hard time locating ti. Just pop ur hood and look along the black trim piece behind the headlights...look directly down meaning vertically. The slot doesn't have a screw in it for the screwdriver...it has like a slotted washer that turns when u turn the screwdriver. Now that you found it...the only way to adjust your headlights w/o a chart would be to pull up to a blank wall at night time 25 feet away and just adjust them to where you want them to be. Good luck!!

i remember after i got my comptech springs installed i had to take it to the dealer because the rake look pointed my headlights straight down... and now that i have H&R's on, the rake look is gone.. and now i get a lot of angry oncoming drivers who hi-beam me a lot... haha

I aimed mine up about 1/2 turn on each side. That fixed my lights. You should only need to adjust the up/down. It's very easy. Just make sure your turn them the same amount on both sides.

from the factory, the lights are aimed properly to illuminate the road and surroundings. If your car was involved in a frontal collission then maybe they were aimed improperly.

Does anyone know why our HIDs are not as bright as the one on Infiniti and Lexus? I mean they all use 4100K bulbs, but theirs cover more road and brighter. Could it be Acura is using cheap reflector, or the headlights are aimed a bit lower.

I have no complaints with how mine lit up the road (with stock suspension). I think its the same as every other company.

Don't Infinity, Lexus, BMW have projection style HID's (like the TSX and new TL)?? The light appears brighter due to the increased focus I would assume.

the only difference I found is that they all come with auto-level stuff, ours do not.
