How...?!?!?!?
How...?!?!?!?
Okay, i Love the CL-S and TL-S and i defend them every chance i get, but can you explain to me why a 95 SHO 5spd can beat a stock CL-S??? i mean it runs high 14's low 15's stock right??? and the SHO runs high 15's stock.....so wtf is going on?!?!
or a 15 mph roll, Auto CLS, the SHO has a y pipe and thats about it, dyno'd at 199 hp and 192 tq.....im VERY puzzled seeing as they are both 5 spds, even though its an auto on the CLS, its about 210-220 hp, and 180-190 tq....wtf
im guessing that after 3rd the CL will shine and pull ahead....am i right?

Weight & manual tranny vs. auto pwnd you there.

An auto 01 CL-S typically dynos around 195whp to begin with, where are you getting its about 210-220 hp? If a stock CLS dynos around 195 whp and your friends SHO dyno's 199whp and has MORE torque than the CL, plus a manual tranny, and weighs about the same then I dont see why you got confused about the loss?
the 95 SHOs still had the v6. the v8 didn't come into play until 1996. having come from a 1993 SHO automatic myself, i will personally tell you that my SHO, when i sold it, was pretty close to being able to running with my TL-S. i had done several mods, including intake, port & polish, port matching, computer chip, etc.
yamaha designed the 3.2L V6 engines with a 7k redline, and i could take it there every time.
the 3.4L v8 SHOs were slower than the v6's due to ford's ineptness at building engines at the time, but 3rd gear on the SHO was a powerful gear. as far as they compare to the TL, the v6 SHO stock is 220hp/215tq at the crank and weighs in around 3200lbs. the automatic did in fact run around high 15s stock. a manual will move quite nicely though, given the right driver. a y-pipe would definitely open up the high end on those cars.
believe me, i love my TL, but the SHO was no slouch.
