Honest Mechanic in Westchester/NY needed.

I want to solve the problem of my car running rich, damn exhaust is leaving black dust all over the rear end of the car and fucking up my paint. Also need to possibly weld my header crack. Also need to tune her up and bring her back to new condition, maybe even a valve adjustment. nybody know any good mechanics that have experience with honda and Acuras? I hate going to shady mechanics, ya know.

can't help you out with a mechanic, but for your rich problem, bad o2 sensors and a bad cat will cause that. if your headers are cracked, that can def be running you rich bc it's alter ur exhaust gas readout.

def figure it out, bc your o2s and cat are now burning excess fuel. i would fix the headers, replace the o2s, new spark plugs, and hope you dont need a new cat.

Thanks, now I just need a mechanic to do all the above, lol. I'd do most of that myself, but my right hand is broke.

I don't think I need new plugs, I mean they are technically good for 100k miles and i only have 49k miles on my car. Ya know. i want to change one thing at a time and test drive to see if that was the culprit.

been a while since I lived in westchester, but I remember a shop in pleasantville that was pretty good w/my '69 benz. dunno how much help that is since I don't remember the name or if they work on acuras.

btw, just had the 100k mile service and the mechanic said they had been having trouble getting the plugs out of a lot of these motors after 100k. maybe safer to change them before then?

Ron if u want i can talk to my mechanic down the street from my house. Ive been going to them ever since i got my license. They are not shady at all and are very honest. They have experience with honda/acuras but they work on all cars (its a shop attached to a shell gas station).

they wont be able to weld your crack but if you want me to i can talk to them about the things you need done to see if they can do it. PM me if your interested.

and i noticed there are alot more TL and TSX owners in westchester on acurazine then CL's, maybe you should try posting there

Isn't running rich just from the way your FPR is adjusted? I'm not sure you can do much about that besides getting it 'tuned'.
