Hondata chip

Do they make these chips for our 03 CL-S (6 speeders?)

Is there any chips for us?

do a search.... there is tons upon TONS of information on chips for our cars. The most popular is the Uni-chip but is expensive for minimal gains. If you dont have forced induction then chiping our car is kinda pointless. If you dont have headers, intake, exhaust-het that first! they help a lot.

VAFC II brother!

But make sure you tune it right! If not you'll see nothing but a light show

No Hondata for our CL. VAFC II and UniChip are good options.

are you smokin' crack?

I picked up an extra 10 hp for $150 brand new out of the box for being NA. (The guy I bought it from never used it.)

Don't buy new.

If you do more research you'll find out that people have picked up more than 20 extra hp when juiced.

Gains while being chipped are pretty damn good...the only expensive part is just having the car tuned.

kthxbye

what kind of mods do you have? I'm sure if one is stock, gain will be minimal if not none. If your modded, than the stock ecu might not be able to compensate the change in the working environment, therefore an after market chip is needed to get the most gain

You are right, If the car is modded you will see gains.

Maybe I should correct myself before I eat crow...minimal gains are seen with no mods.

Gains are seen with mods on.

And yes, I do have plenty of mods right now.

EDIT: BUT, not every car sees minimal gains if they aren't modded. Stock turbocharged cars and supercharged cars see pretty big gains because the ECU is putting a restriction on them.

and thats exactally what I said. if you have a modded car then its worth it but not if your just starting your modding spectrum.

So they really dont??

Then how do these guys who runs a S/C get their ECU upgraded? Unless there is no 6 speeds CL-S with a S/C?

UniChip does not make a chip for the 6-speed...if you want to be the first guinea pig...go for it .

i've never really thought of emanage as a chip. is it just a piggyback, or full engine managment?

that's exactly what it is...unichip, emanage...and all...they are all piggyback chips that can tune A/F mixtures and when tuned correctly it adds more power

You can tune other stuff as well...but from what I'm seeing...A/F ratio is a biggy.

Unichip is a waste of money. I have a custom tunted Unichip on my TL-S which has Comptech headers, B-pipe, Icebox, and UR crank pulley. According to the before and after dyno, I picked up about 2-4 whp with a custom tune. This is typical of most cusstom tuned Unichip gains with the CL-S and TL-S cars.

I was the first to have my UniChip custom tuned and I only picked up 8-10whp and I had every other "bolt-on" mod available. To think I invested something like $800 for 8-10whp still makes me sick. I think I sold the UniChip for $250 a few years ago.

Used means $150-250. Still worth it? Eh... I guess "worth it" is up to the individual.

A custom tune really is required on each vehicle and that alone is going to cost another $150-250.

Spend that money on nitrous and be done with it

Our stock ECU is way too stubborn to do anything with. You'll need a piggy back.

With the correct a/f ratio, nitrous isn't any worst then a turbo or supercharger. I don't know so many think its bad. To many people saw the eclipse burn up the piston rings on fast n furious lol

There are many members on here with nitrous or have tried it and I haven't seen one with issues yet.

Damn movies scare people too much.
